Love, love love the hot dogs!

The hot dogs and cheeseburgers are so good here. There are no side orders such as fries or onion rings.

My sister and I stopped here on our way to the outer banks. We got gas and stepped inside to check it out. The inside is a complete opposite of the beautiful exterior. There were probably 6 ladies behind the counter and not a single one greeted me or my sister who came in after pumping the gas. We tried... More

This is a place for a quick bite to eat that serves quick burgers and hot dogs that are some of the best ever eaten. Nothing fancy.

I live just down the road from this place, and in the past 5 years I have tried hot dogs and hamburgers 4 times because of the hype. I have NEVER felt at ease there, the staff is just not friendly. Everything is overpriced, especially the gas. It is usually priced 15-20 cents (or more) above the going rates. I... More

The food is standard lunch-counter greasy. The prices throughout the small store are well above grocery chains, as is the gas above other gas stations' prices. The younger staff are nice, but a few of the older ladies are downright surly!

If your looking for a good hot dog at a great price, best to travel out of your way to The Grocery Bag! Sometimes on Saturday they will have an old country band play some oldies while you wait and eat. Limited seating and limited menus, but good enough!

My wife and I stopped at the Grocery Bag yesterday for one of our favorite lunches. We each got a couple of hot dogs and sat down to eat. As we ate we were treated to a local blue grass band that included the owner of the Grocery Bag and had a great time. I was told they do this... More

I grew up eating here with my family, and now take my family on Saturdays for a quick hot dog. The lunch counter is ran by extremely nice Southern ladies, exhibiting the classic Carolina charm folks around here expect. The building is rich with history, which is being kept alive by the live bluegrass music around lunchtime on Saturdays. Do... More

I love the hot dogs at Flowers Store aka the Grocery Bag I'm not prejudice just because I live around the corner. I've just eaten some of the best including the incomparable Boonies in Rocky Mount NC. I get mine all the way with mayo , slaw and a little BBQ sauce. Sometime that gets a little messy so I... More

I don't know where BBBsteps ate, but I doubt it was the Grocery Bag. I've been going here for over 13 years. 1) The ladies behind the counter are friendly, to everyone I've witnessed during my visits. 2) Their gas is 3.36 right now. According to GasBuddy.com, gas prices in the area run from 3.29-3.42 a gallon. Doesn't look like... More
