Greetings, My wife and I tried this cafe for the first time and was very surprised at how good the food was and how inexpensive the prices were. We had tuna steak, chicken fried rice, spicy tuna roll and a crunchy roll. All was very good but I was very empress with the tuna steak as it was cooked just... More

The sushi here is both better and cheaper than anywhere else I've found in Charlotte. That probably explains why it is almost always crowded with a line waiting to get in. Still, the service manages to be efficient. My way of dealing with this is to get to-go, as I find the inside dining to be too stressful to enjoy.

It 's not fancy ... it's not fast food but it is a family run consistent restaurant that we enjoy to go to when we're casual. Good selection and service.

New Zealand should be number one here and I'm shocked that it isn't.This is in a small strip mall and used to be a secret. This is the freshest and best sushi in Charlotte. I've been eating here for 6 years now. The owner Jackie is a very nice man that is just trying to make his dreams come true!... More

Went here on a recommendation from our waiters in a steak house the night before. They not only praised the food but also recommended we ask for Jackie the owner which we did. Sat at the Sushi Bar which is small with only 5 stools. Met Jackie and he was most friendly and welcomed us to his restaurant. Had two... More

This is another favorite of ours. We've been here several times for lunch & dinner and have been impressed with the freshness of the food, inventiveness of the preparation, and the solid consistency over a long period of time. This is a small cafe which fills up at meal times. There is a nice vibe to the room & turnover... More

We eat here at least once a month. Don't let the small venue or casual atmosphere take away from the excellent value and presentation. Sushi is on par with Cowfish, at half the price. All of the rolls are made with care and many have unique sauces, not the pink mayo "shrimp" sauce that other places drown their food in.

If you like sushi, then you NEED to visit Jackie the sushi chef here! The freshest fish, very creative roll combinations with really good tasting rice, to a very friendly atmosphere. This is a small quaint establishment that has been here for a long time. The patrons are very loyal which speaks volumes about the food and quality. I ate... More

I've been in Charlotte 6 years now and have eaten sushi in most of the restaurants that are here. Some good, some bad. I will say that New Zealand Cafe has an excellent choice of sushi and rolls and the sushi is some of the best that Ive had. Yes, the place lacks ambience and is small, but more than... More
