I went to Price’s Chicken Coop for the first time yesterday. I went with seven friends. They each ordered the fried chicken. It looked and smelled great. And each of my friends raved that it was great. Based on my experience I believe them. I actually went with the perch. I know what you’re thinking. How can you go to... More

The best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. I don't know how they do it, but the chicken skin and the bone stay together when you bite into the chicken (unlike some fried chicken where the skin slides all around). They are not open on Sundays so if you want your chicken for an NFL game or a... More

Got this for a school reunion. It was ready when we picked it up. Easy to order, nice people to work with.

Price's Chicken Coop, or just the "Coop" as us locals call it has some of the best fried chicken you will ever eat. Rated in top 10 in the country by a major food magazine. It's take out only so be prepared to take it with you. The line will out the door at lunch time and turn off your... More

Price's Chicken Coop isn't a sit-down restaurant and they don't take credit cards. You can call ahead or order at the counter, but you better have cash! The fried chicken tastes like my mom's...and that's the highest compliment any chef can get. It's a Charlotte landmark known for fried chicken, fried fish, fried chicken livers, and all the fixin's. The... More

So many people in Charlotte just looooove Price's, and it's good, don't get me wrong... but I'm a southern girl who grew up on fried chicken, and I just don't get why everyone raves about it so. It's ok, but it could be a little crispier. It's very basic. Nothing to write home about (even though I AM writing a... More

The Chicken Coop as we locals refer to it has a long standing tradition of delivering good chicken. When the Democratic National Convention was held in Charlotte, Diane Sawyer from ABC News went to the Chicken Coop. Diane talked about how good it was on air. There are a lot of places to get chicken in Charlotte, but when I... More

The atmosphere reminds me of the 1970's show, Alice! I'm not sure why, it may have something to do with the Cash Only policy and how they write your order on the white paper bag that you'll receive your food in. Its very basic and nostalgic. Oh, and the chicken, oh that fried chicken is so simply seasoned, it's AMAZING!!!... More
