Fun!

A wonderful surprise minutes down the road from ovens auditorium for the KLove 2015 bible tour concert. Fun for kids to order from car and have car side service. Very traditional drive in menu!

Classic food you have already fallen in love with. My first visit was souly based on that Guy from Diners-DriveIns-& Dives came here and it was a stop for every location in North Carolina. I got the cheeseburger with onion rings and it was good as expected. Going back to Charlotte in a month and I'll defiantly be stopping by.

From the down home drive-in menu, to ordering over vintage, sputtering speakers, to the car hop nattily attired and topped-off with a pork pie hat. It was like a "blast from the past" experience. The food? Well, in the day it was doubtless unique. Today it is simply OK. Onion rings were memorable, the fries not so much. The double... More

Surprised by the rave reviews for this place. The drive-in atmosphere is cool because it's an original and not a reproduction. The Superboy burger and crispy chicken sandwich were both fine, but nothing fantastic or unique to this area. Try any local What-a-burger, Showmars or Mr. C's (Concord, NC) and get nearly identical food. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing... More

Best fried chicken in the world!! We visit every time that we are in the Charlotte area. The establishment has been around for ages and it is no wonder with how fantastic the food is. Go visit!

Burgers, chicken, and fish had no seasoning what so ever! My onion rings were cold. It took 30 minutes to get our food! Need I say more?

I love the fried chicken and onion rings, my husband has to at least have a bite of the burgers and my little one is all for the fries and shakes. The service is great we recommend.

I talked my whole family into trying this place out after reading all the great reviews. Sadly, it was a very big letdown. The food was really nothing special at all...bun was stale, burgers dry and flavorless, gross shredded lettuce. Worst coleslaw ever....milkshake?--bad! I just do not understand how this place has been open since 1955 and hasn't figured out... More

I have been to South 21 with my family several times, and look for opportunities to go back. I love the drive-in experience, and can't get enough of their burgers and hamburger steak. Bring a tray from home to put your plate on, and you'll avoid a mess.

After seeing South 21 on Burgerland we knew we had to try it. The burgers were big and tasty. The onion rings were the best I ever had! The intercom system was really staticky and hard to hear but other than that it was an awesome old school drive in experience. We would eat here again!
