Note, we dined there with a group, had a dedicated menu rather than ordering from the normal offerings. Service was superb - attentive yet not overbearing. Food was very good, but the quirky occasionally threatened to overcome the adventure. Fried oyster and small cup of gumbo as appetizers were superb; poached egg swimming in bacon consomme was very good but... More

Went to Savannah Red recently during Restaurant Week with some foodie friends after hearing the rave reviews. My experience was not in the category of "exceptional" it was actually far from it. The positive is the beautiful decor and light fixtures. The menu is limited, the service was so so and my steak and two asparagus spears were served cold.... More

I would like to sincerely apologize for your unfortunate dining experience. There is no acceptable excuse for delivering cold food or giving bad service. Our restaurant prides itself on giving our customers a memorable experience and it upsets all of us to hear of a disgruntled guest. Savannah Red changes their menus seasonally and we do tastings prior to introducing... More

I don't understand all the five stars and the one one star review. There's nothing terrible about this place. But, there is nothing great about it either. The restaurant is a small room off the bar off the lobby. Kind of a cool room, but it was pretty empty so not much of a vibe to it. The menu rid... More

A hidden treasure hiding in plain sight!! if this wasn't located in the Marriott lobby people would be raving about it. The creativity is only outdone by the delivery and flavor. Go if you want some of the best new south food, don't go if you are a snob who won't go to a restaurant in a Marriott no matter... More

This is my new favorite restaurant in Uptown Charlotte. I'm strictly Vegan and the Chef prepared a special meal for me. I'm used to just putting "sides" together, so this was a real treat. Both my husband's an my meals were delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive. Good wine choices, as well. The dark red decor is just... More

My mother raves about this place, she frequents Charlotte for the theatres and has visited all of the restaurants in the area. There was a warmth to the atmosphere and service, which included the chef who came to our table to describe our specially-requested vegan meal. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in. The walls are... More

A small, perhaps 15 table, restaurant in the Marriott Hotel. The ambiance was at best ho-hum. The service was very attentive but the meals were not memorable. The red velvet cake dessert was very dry.

Gourmet Soul Food? I love it. Who would have thought such a nice little gem would be hidden inside the Charlotte Marriott. We had some very artistic chefs with us since we were all here for the Research Chefs Association's annual conference. No pressure to the chef since we didn't say anything until half way through the meals. They started... More

Once again we visited the Savannah Red in Charlotte. I've almost always ordered the Filet, and it was fantastic as ever. My husband had the Seafood Special and it was excellent as well. We shared the Trio Sampler as an appetizer, and you just can't beat the sauces. We spent our first hour at the wine bar, chatting with two... More

This restaurant is nothing more than the Marriott hotel breakfast place with red wall carpets and the lights dimmed...so it is kind of a scam when you think about it! Small and uncomfortable tables with a strange floor layout. There are literally dozens of top notch authentic eateries within short walking distance, so there is no need to suffer through... More
