We have been to Carpe Diem a few times before their move to Elizabeth. We tried it again tonight for our anniversary dinner. Big Mistake. While granted, it was a Monday night (I get that in the restaurant industry), the food was pretty much awful. Over-seasoned...overdone. Steak overcooked; Quail undecipherable in it's bed of black (white) rice and syrupy sweet... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant during queens feast, which was a 3 course promotion for $30 a person for many restaurants in Charlotte. Both meals as a whole were very good. While we appreciate the use of local meat, it detracted from the meal. For the higher quality of restaurant, we were expecting more tender cuts. Would we... More

Took advantage of the special opportunity during restaurant week and made reservations. We had a wonderful experience from being greeted by the hostess, guided to the table and then served. You could not have asked for better or prompter service. The food was excellent - from the soup to the main dish and dessert. We opted for the hanger steak... More

This restaurant had been a favorite for both my wife and I for many years throughout the 90s! We had visited only twice in the last ten years and found the experience both times to be neither special nor substandard but simply uninspiring. Our most recent visit was during restaurant week at the invitation of friends and was a top... More

The night we met our friends with their kids I really wasn't feeling all that great. My appetite was way off so I won't speak about the food. Other than to say, they don't have what I would call a particularly kid friendly menu . What I really liked about the restaurant is that they don't overcrowd the tables in... More

My wife I made our first visit and it was great. Celebrating our anniversary they seated us in a alcove for two, very romantic. Rebecca our server was very helpful with first timers and took excellent care of us. The food was wonderful. We had veal spareribs and the special Rib-eye. Food cooked perfectly. Will definitely return.

Great ambiance, very solicitous staff. Good wine list (not a huge connoisseur, can not really judge). Been only once and my husband ordered the same entrée, duck breast and we shared beef carpacio. The duck was great, the rice which came with it - too mushy for my taste, but my husband loved it. The carpacio was nice but I... More

Went for dinner with a large group from work and had a great dinner with equally great service. Out-of-the-ordinary menu choices and amazing desserts to share. Would definitely go again, so many interesting dishes to try.
