I've been to Lupie's about a half-dozen times in my 30 years in Charlotte. The chili is consistently good, and, if you've never been, worth a try. If you have a hard time parking in their lot, move along somewhere else, because the service is nothing special and the wait in the small vesitibule outside is often offensive and tedious.... more

Lupie's has the best Texas chili with no tomatoes. It is made with beer and spices, beans & hamburger. I highly recommended if you like hot chili. They also have one in Huntersville, NC near Lake Norman if you don't actually go into Charlotte. Their other food looks great too hamburgers, nachos. more

For those of you from DC this is like Hard Times Chili - a bit funkier. A Charlotte tradition with Texas Red and Cinncinnati style chili. Drinks are sold in Mason jars...you get the picture. Always a line more
