Description: From the Wine Spectator Award to "Best Italian Restaurant" from Zagat, Mama Ricotta's Italian Restaurant brings to life the award-winning vision of owner Frank Scibelli. With a long, proud reputation built on authentic recipes, made from the freshest of ingredients and prepared by the finest culinary minds in the South, Mama Ricotta's restaurant is the premier Italian dining destination in Charlotte. "Upscale homestyle" is our style, and we love to bring it to you, again and again. Begin your adventure with a warm Goat Cheese and Mascarpone Dip served with grilled crostini, and then move into the warm freshness of our Penne Alla Vodka, tossed in a spicy cream tomato sauce. Or, let the subtle flavors of our Pollo Carciofi delight even your most discriminating of tastes. Our commitment to freshness is one of our most valued traditions - we even house-make our mozzarella! With nearly two decades of success, we've made it our goal to bring you only the best, with our best.

Tried Mama Ricotta's for a early dinner. Amazing atmosphere. The service and food were outstanding. We decided to go with a family serving of both Mama's salad with house dressing and Amma's Cheese ravioli with meat sauce. This is one of my top Italian meals of all times. The house salad dressing was reason enough for a return trip!!! The... More

My husband and I tried Mama Ricotta's for the first time on a food tour in April. We took the kids back a couple of weeks ago and were so glad we did. The food is fresh, and as authentic as I would imagine, given I've never been to Italy. The owner uses "Mama's recipes." The kids enjoyed the food... More

The food and service were very good. The waiter's recommendation of the penne alla vodka for my son turned out to be an excellent choice and my dish of pollo bianco was quite good. I will definitely visit this restaurant the next time I am in Charlotte

My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner that we have never visited. We happened to come across Mama Ricotta and loved it. The atmosphere was family oriented and the staff was very friendly. The manager was very accommodating when my husband ordered something he wasn't happy with.

Mama Ricotta's was recommended by co-workers on a recent visit to Charlotte. It was lunchtime and the place was packed ( a good sign this was going to be awesome). We were greeted and promptly ushered to our table. The servers were immediately there for your drink order. I had the rigatonni with meat sauce. It was a delicous blend... More

We visited Mama Ricotta's tonight during the Charlotte Queen's Feast week. It was actually a beautiful evening and we wanted a quieter atmosphere so we chose to sit outside. Inside would have been fine, but you don't get the opportunity often in July to sit outside and be comfortable. For starters we had the bruschetta and a chopped salad. Delicious!... More

My husband & I spent the weekend in Charlotte for our anniversary and realized two of the restaurants we wanted to go to were closed on Sunday. Living in Charleston, SC, we did not want seafood so we opted for Italian for our last night in the city. Mama's was a great find! Shortly after we were seated, a basket... More

We went here for my nieces graduation dinner. We arrived what I would consider on the early side, 5:30, so it was not busy. The waiter was horrible. He spoke so softly that we could barely hear him. He forgot to tell us the specials, (we had to ask) the food was just ok. Not bad, not great. When the... More

6 of us drop in on a Tuesday at 7:00pm, full house but seated quickly. Great server w/ personality, good rough crust bread/evo, nice pours for Rocks and a $10 corkage fee. We had a Burrata appetizer, very tasty, above avg.salad and Penne Ala Vodka which while I personally shy away from cream sauces, this was KILLER! Too good. While... More
