My favorite restaurant in Charlotte

I love this place. Great, cool, off-beat decor. But their menu is what really makes this place rock. Whatever is on their menu is excellent. I usually get their roti but I've had their shrimp and grits, chef salad and other dishes. All are excellent. You don't expect much when you order a... read more

This edition of Excited about Eating takes us to to Krazy Fish in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood. We arrived a little before noon on Good Friday and waited a few minutes to be greeted and seated. The first thing we noticed was the eclectic interior combined with junk art throughout the restaurant, and the musty smell was a turn off.... More

I won't say it was not good -- but it was quite different. My wife really enjoyed the calamari. I had the Seafood Creole. I don't want to criticize something just because it was different, but it takes some getting used to. (I would agree with the adjective "creative"). The service was SUPER! Lots of fun. It was a little... More

Central Avenue is extending further west and Krazy Fish has strategically located itself on the farther end of the main strip. Just the kind of place locals would know about and enjoy. The whimsical names of drinks, fun decor, and beachy vibe make this a relaxing spot for everyone. I had the peanut butter and jam chicken wings, (yes! that's... More

The service was great, really friendly server. Food was creative and the menu touted local and fresh ingredients. Flavors were great and unique, we will return for sure.

I had been hearing a lot of buzz about Krazy Fish and had visited to website to check out the menu. I thought for sure that it would be a good experience. I have to say I was disappointed. The waiter was great and friendly but the food was just mediocre. I had a Cuban and a friend had a... More

The decor is crazy but I loved the beach theme. The good was great, a mixture of Caribbean, seafood, and American flavored. I loved my shrimp and grits, didn't care for all the deep fried vegetables, and hated the sangaria drinks. Tasted like very cheap wine....horrible

Really enjoyed our first visit. Had the grouper taco with a side of jalapeño grits as a side. Both were excellent. Really impressed with the variety of items they offered.

Stopped in a few weeks ago.I ordered the shrimp po boy and my friend ordered the Cuban. Neither of us were really impressed. The Cuban was more like beef brisket and I was not crazy about the krazy slaw. This is our second try here. We would consider going for brunch the menu looked good but we will see.
