Amazing!

I loved this food! All 4 in my party had the fried chicken. All different sides, but I had the Mac n cheese, sautéed cabbage (YUM), and the green beans. It was blissful! Had the sweet potato fritters with honey and a delicious sparkling rose wine to begin. I could kick myself for not writing down... read more

My husband and I had tickets for Mama Mia @ Knight's Theater. We arrived in Downtown CLT early so that we could grab some dinner. Neither one of us have been in the downtown area in awhile, so we were not familiar with all the restaurant choices. We knew of one - but it was a ways from the theater.... More

I was in Charlotte for business, and wanted to entertain at an acceptable level. I also wanted to try old fashioned, Southern cuisine. The King's Kitchen description in Trip Advisor reached out to me; it was near my client's offices, and the choice was an easy one. For two of us, I ordered Southern friend chicken and barbeque style brisket,... More

We simply lucked out! Traveling to Atlanta and delayed by the rain, this was a sweet surprise! The shrimp and grits were great, the scallops and sucatash were superb and the pork chop was splendid. A "must do" in Charlotte.

My title sums things up for this place. If you're in the center of the city of Charlotte, NC and looking for great southern food, this is your place. It's walkable from many of the downtown hotels. The gumbo was probably the best I've ever had, better than New Orleans! My wife and I split the pork chop which was... More

Good, Southern food, good service, smart and downtown setting and inexpensive to boot. I was told by my adult son, who took the entire family out to dinner that the owner of The King's Kitchen runs it as a nonprofit. So, we had great food and relatively reasonable prices. My fried chidden was excellent, while the whipped potatoes with white... More

I have been here several time just because I love the mission of the place. It doesn't hurt that the food is good also. I always find the restaurant is always fully staffed with helpful people. I am a little upset as they have made some changes to the menu ( removing the fried okra and the pecan pie) But... More

Wonderful dinner at this mission driven restaurant. The owner contributes profits to help community. That alone is enough to want to support this local restaurant. But add on many other reasons: Staff was delightful. Food was super! Very helpful bartender who has delicious recommendations and will let you taste a beer if nit sure which if the craft brews on... Our company holiday dinner was hosted at Kings Kitchen. During my other business trips, I have always make a stop here. The food is great and unique for the area. I have done take out and dine in. All times, staff is very attentitive and food quality is amazing. Due to the mission of the restaurant, this is one place... More
