Cute and funky

My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night at 10:00. The line was incredibly long. It does go relatively fast, though, and checking out the quirky décor and cozy seating vignettes is part of the fun. i love french macarons. I got an assortment of them here and they are good. i am not sure the flavors i got actually come from the brightly colored ingredients-- they were very brightly colored in BRIGHT green and BRIGHT purple. nevertheless, they are good macarons. I do feel like they cost a bit much, thought.

Just not a fan but I'm likely the exception. Lines always long, feel rushed ordering & I threw my salted caramel brownie away.

Good, but not fantastic, pastries. Funky vibe. Hipsters get pushy if you take too long deciding what you want to eat.

My daughter has a picky sweet tooth. She loves good chocolate, macaroons and anything french. I decided to take her to Amelie's as a reward for working hard in school. As we entered she gasped at the lovely dessert counter. She chose several macaroons, with pistachio being her favorite. Not as good as Laduree but decent. Her chocolate choice was... More

This is one of the few places where the pastries are as good as they look. (So often you go to a bakery and those beautiful tarts or golden pies turn out to be a disappointment. Not the case at Amelle's.) And it's in a great neighborhood as well; nice just strolling around munching on something from Amelle's.

Salted caramel brownies...oh my! These are the primary...maybe the only...reason to go to Amelie's. A little slice of sinful delight indeed. Other than the browines, we give it a "meh" If you can make it past the hipsters and yuppies...or if you are cool enough to stand amongst them...then wait in line for the brownies. If you are looking for... More

Great place for desserts, sandwiches, soup, coffee or tea. Bring your laptop or whatever and sit for hours if you want. Great atmosphere, funky. Helpful and nice staff.

Just love this place for the quality of the food and the ambience. One of my top "go-to's" in Charlotte. The very authentic pain au chocolat is to die for.

Amelie's has great hand crafted pastries and breads. It's self-service basically: wait in line, find a seat, etc. the decor is very eclectic, shabby chicish and there are a series of wandering rooms. There are a lot of single young customers with coffee and their computer. It's not so much restaurant as coffee shop/bakery although they do offer some sandwiches.
