Birthday dinner success

My husband and I visited Chima tonight for happy hour. We had been for dinner before but had wanted to try their half-off happy hour special. We ordered one of everything "from the grille". The appetizers that are half off are all items on the left side of the menu (excluding the salmon and lamb-- which are not eligible for... More

The Salad Bar is awesome. Smoked salmon, cheeses, beef tartare, asparagus, etc. And certain cuts of meat are fabulous: parmesan crusted pork, filet, swordfish. The quality of meat has decreased over the years it seems. :( They send out a LOT of greasy sausage. The bar is phenomenal though & the staff top notch.

Visited Chima with friends while visiting Charlotte. I was a bit disappointed by the hostess when we arrived there were 3 employees at the hostess table and they didn't acknowledge us right away. This is why I'll give 4 stars instead of 5. Aside from that service at the table was wonderful. Our server was Brian and he was really attentive... More

Great salad bar and the different meat were very good. I wouldn't recommend filling up on the salad. They also will offer the meats in a progressive manner where the least expensive meats are offered first. The top sirloin was excellent as was all the cuts I tried. My wife said her coffee was the best she had ever had.

This was my second time to Chima, this time for a family dinner. We were seated downstairs this time which was a different experience. Upstairs has a nice bar, and a more quite chill vibe to the restaurant. Downstairs has larger family tables and is quite a bit louder, which initially put me off. I almost asked to be moved.... The concept sounded interesting - a restaurant where waiters walked around with various cuts of steak, pork, lamb and even fish and serve you a piece whenever you want for as long as you want. On top of that you were promised Brazilian flair and drinks. They delivered on the drinks but not on the flair. You have to start... More

be sure you are hungry and can eat a lot or else you may feel as if you wasted money... with all the meats that you have coming your way, you are sure to be extra full when you leave

The service here was above average, the staff was all very helpful. We interacted with about ten different people. The meat was mostly good, there were a couple dry items but if you tell the gauchos they will get you another, better piece so it's all good. We went early in the day which helped the digestive process :) The... More

I have been to five different Brazilian steak houses - I travel a lot, and since I'm usually buying, this is a popular choice. This one is no better and no worse than all the others. I will say the lamb here was overdone and gristly.
