If all vegetarian food were like this I could give up meat

Located in the strip mall that houses the Chelsea Theatre in Chapel Hill. This is a vegetarian restaurant with a tilt towards Persian (I suppose calling it Iranian might alienate some potential customers) cuisine. We went there while visiting friends who live in the area and are vegetarians. The restaurant was great for them as they could order anything on the menu. We were there on a Saturday night and called ahead for a reservation, which was a good thing because the small dining room was quite full. The staff was very friendly, though... More

We stopped at Sage for dinner before a movie at next door Chelsea Theater. The restaurant has a Persian bent and is excellent. We each started with a large bowl of their signature soup, Osh, with garbanzos, lentils, pintos, spinach, and noodles. We shared a large organic greens salad. We split a Persian entree - Gormeh Sabzi - a stew... More

We were travelling from Cary to Mebane in North Carolona State, We stopped at Chapel Hill, as it was Lunch time. We were searching for a Restaurant, where we can get some Vegetarian food. To our surprise, we could find a Vegetarian Restaurant at this place. Sage cafe is an exclusively Vegetarian Restaurant. Menu was 100% vegetarian including entrées and... More

I want to love this place because I love Iranian food, flavors and I am vegetarian but the flavors are more Indian. I wish they have more variety. Tempeh and tofu are not the only sources of protein for a vegetarian!

This is a quaint little restaurant in the Timberlyne Shopping Center. The seating is limited and tables are quite close together. I have only been there for lunch- many times - and have only tried their grilled cheese - my favorite! There is seating outside but again limited.

One of the worst meals I have had in Chapel Hill! This vegetarian restaurant will make a meat eater out of you. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which took 20 minutes basically because the waiter was chatting and not paying attention to his job. It came to the table cold - and it was returned. It came back not... More

While visiting Durham, NC, we heard about a local vegetarian cafe. This is a small restaurant nestled in a shopping center, so it takes a couple of extra minutes to locate. As the waitress, explained, the restaurant is owned by a Persian family and the menu reflects this cultural background: hummus, soups and entrees of Persian origin, delicious bread,..... My... More

This is a quaint little place in the Timberlyne Shopping Center. The seating is very limited, and the tables are tiny. Our party of nine (with reservations) was squeezed into a space with one person still dining on a corner of a table. Great for coffee or tea and a snack, but not for dinner. Perhaps with success, they will... More

I had high hopes for this restaurant after I read all the good comments. The food is not Persian at all. I ordered Cutlet and what I got was disgusting! I even asked for the recipe before ordering to be sure what I'd get. I couldn't even convince myself to take the second bite. Terrible texture and very bland! It... More
