Went there recently for a change of pace and had the Zaalouk (eggplant sandwich) with a small order of their chips. The sandwich was delicious--oily pesto, soft eggplant, goat cheese, and plum tomatotes on ciabatta. For the price, a little small. Ditto on the chips, although it's probably a good thing the serving size was small because THEY ARE SO... More

I was just about to write a 5 star review for this awesome sandwich place until I had a lovely experience with them on Labor Day. I ordered lunch via ChowNow online to pick up. After I got my order confirmation, I walked half an hour to Sandwhich from UNC only to discover that it was closed. Really? I got... More

Now I get why part of the restaurant was updated and clean. The high chairs were missing the crotch straps, therefore your baby can slip right through. This is unacceptable! The bathrooms were filthy and old looking. Didn't mesh with the store "front." I really felt like I was on a movie set. Fake front, then start looking closely and... More

We ate here for a quick lunch. Great range of sodas including cheer wine! We had really tasty fries, grilled cheese and eggplant veggie sandwich. Was a little more pricey than normal for lunch but worth it I thought.

I've eaten at Sandwhich in Chapel Hill twice in the last year when I was visiting family. They love the place and it's easy to know why. Every item I've tried was fresh, made to order and often with a tasty twist. About a half dozen beers were on tap with sevral local brews and a half pint was also... More

I could rave about everything in this restaurant: the menu, the daily specials, the artsy decor, and even the bathrooms! But the thing that keeps me coming back, every single time I am in Chapel Hill (roughly twice a year) is the food. At first I thought it might be a deli but it isn't! It's a place that specializes... Perfect spot for grabbing a sandwich (and a drink) with friends. I like sitting on the patio, outside under the sunshades, which they've tied onto nearby trees. Great people watching on West Franklin Street. During my most recent visit (June 2014), I had the "Avocado" sandwich on gluten-free bread. I also added bacon :) it was delicious! Even the gluten... Though wait food my food was a little longer (likely not consistently that way), this place knows how to put together a menu. Loved the gruyere burger with the works I ordered one time, and their milkshakes are great. Want to go back & try a range of what's on their menu!

I ordered a Classic BLT with avocado in seared sourdough bread. Simple? They have made this for me before. Today I got it pressed in a panini maker. The lettuce was hot and wilted, the tomatoes squashed to smithereens and the whole sandwich inedible. For a $9.00 BLT plus paying for parking, this was a big disappointment and bigger waste... More
