Ate at Elaine's mid-week for dinner while visiting UNC. We were able to enjoy their pre-fixe menu. Many of the items available were on their usual dinner menu as well. Everything was wonderful. My sister enjoyed the pre-fixe with wine pairing - she loved all of the wines offered. Our server was very attentive and met all of our needs.... More

This is a great place to celebrate special occasions. The wait staff give good advice on wine pairings. You really need to book or be prepared to squeeze into the small bar area and wait for a vacant table.

Expensive - but Actually worth it! Food is always perfect - fresh, delicious and beautiful. Service is excellent. You will need to make a reservation - the venue is small - 60 people? but not crowded or overly noisy.

Elaine's is exceptional in food quality and service. My first time here and it definitely surpassed expectations. Pork tenderloin with sweet potato waffles?!?! #heavenly

Great restaurant on Franklin in Chapel Hill. Very comfortable, with great service. Food was wonderful: the whole fried sea bass and sturgeon were both perfect. Wine list is extensive, though wines by the glass are very limited.

Since opening in 1999, this restaurant has been consistently one of my favorites. Chef - owned and operated, everything is prepared with care, much thought and attention to detail. Service is also top notch. We had oysters rockefeller and foie gras appetizers and sturgeon entree along with tuna/thon frites entree. Excellent wine list to pair with items. Chef Jennings has... First time in Chapel Hill and I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and selected a wonderful Cabarnet Franc that was enjoyed by all at the table. Each meal was well presented and everyone enjoyed their meal. The trout was icooked to perfection as were the pork chops. We all shared dessert and we... More

I was recently in Chapel Hill on a business trip, and we went to Elaine's following a recommendation from one of the local folks. We were all very impressed with our meals: they were absolutely delicious and very well presented! The service was excellent as well. We enjoyed it so much we ended up going back later in the week... In town on business and got a late start on dinner. Strolled into Elaine's on West Franklin, finding no tables open I decided to sit at the bar. The place is small but nice. Wine selection was good. The food was eclectic, seemed to have several styles all with a southern flair. Someone a few chairs down has the squash... More
