Food in the Research Triangle Area is great and this restaurant was a great choice. Food was reasonably priced and tasted great. I got pulled pork barbecue Carolina style for a dinner entree and was not disappointed. I would come here again for lunch to check out the menu. Hopefully I get the chance to sample a few more restaurants... More

When UNC is in session, Spanky's can get a little crazy. It's my family's favorite laid back restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill. There's something on the menu for everyone, and the food is well prepared and tasty. Would recommend Spanky's for families!

Spanky's on Franklin Street is a solid place for a meal if you won't typical American cuisine, but I wouldn't go there if you wanted to your mind blown. The location is excellent on Franklin Street. It is always crowded. Prices are a little high on some of the dishes. It's a safe choice on game day, if you can... More

Cozy restaurant on Franklin Street right by the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Delicious food, reasonable prices, and very friendly wait staff. Would come here again if in the area.

A friend and I happened upon Spanky's as we were sighseeing in Chapel Hill, N.C. and decided to try it for lunch. It is the perfect college town spot---the walls are filled with caricatures of famous UNC graduates and you get the feeling of a a good mix of town and gown customers. Our lunch was very good, and service... More

Ate lunch here. Food was excellent and quite a wide variety. We were a party of four and each one of us had something different. All were very good. I had the French onion soup and it was delicious. Would definitely come back here the next time we are in Chapel Hill. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a... More

Stopped in for lunch and had a fantastic burger. Our server was extremely informative as we had a lot of questions about the area. Loved the sketches on the wall - had a lot of fun trying to identify each person!

I have skipped this place on prior visits to Chapel Hill because it does not look appealing from the street, but I followed a friend's recommendation for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The upstairs dining room was bright, clean and cheerful. It had a mix crowd of family, student, and business lunch. The service was excellent and the salads were... More

After tuning our taste buds for Mexican food, the place was not open, so we asked a passing lady, with a large pizza box, to recommend a good eating place in the area. She pointed out Spanky's Restaurant, which was only a few feet away. Our waitress was a delight. When I asked whether they had any bread to go... More

I went there for a business dinner and was seated upstairs. They had a buffet style setup with Ribs, Burgers, pasta ( some kind of lasagna ) potatoes, a salad and desert at the end. The burgers were not very good but it was due to execution. The bottom bun was sticking to the metal platter so it was not... More
