Love the pho and grilled pork!

My husband and I come to Lime and Basil almost every time we're in Chapel Hill, and the restaurant is frequently filled with Vietnamese and other Asian students - so I guess they're doing something right. We've been going here for a couple of years now. We've always had friendly wait staff & they don't seem to have a lot of staffing turnover which says something. The atmosphere is very college town (upbeat, busy, fairly noisy, etc.), but it's a great little place to stop in for a fresh, healthy meal. The food is always wonderful,... More

Went alone for dinner. Strangely the staff thought I wanted a take-out and gave me my dinner all packed up! Fortunately I did not have any problems doing a take-out instead. Other than this incident, my order of pho (beef noodles) and cold spring rolls were good. I think the food contains msg - I felt thirsty after the meal.

A refreshing change from chains for an inexpensive meal. The food is consistently good, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Good for a relatively quick and satisfying meal.

This was more like dining at home with friends. It is not sophisticated in any way, except for the food. I had a Pho which was excellent, and came with all of the conidments (basil leaves) etc. Cheap, cheerful service, noisy and busy - great fun.

Took our daughter here for her birthday. Super cold night and there is no wind break for the door. Tiny restaurant, so every time the door opened, our table nearby got chilled. And it's a popular place, so that happened often. Four people = four meals: all very good. We eat here with UNC daughter every few months. One of... More

One of the consistently best Asian restaurants in Chapel Hill. For starters, the crispy spring rolls, golden shrimp, Saigon wings and papaya salad are all winners. For mains, the pho is wonderful--aromatic, complex and filling. The other mains are also good, with the exception of the curry, which is only OK. The Vietnamese Bi Bim Bop isn't the same as... More

We visited this restaurant years ago when it first opened and were not impressed. I recall reading that the owner was a first-time restaurateur and at the time it showed. The pho broth was not very flavorful and the server was not very familiar with the Vietnamese dishes. We finally returned this month and found the food and service much... More

Nothing seems more like summer to me than having the chicken and or shrimp salad from here. the light vinaigrette over finely chopped greens with chopped peanuts is so dang yummy. even though we are now in September, I'm likely to get this salad a few more times before the end of the year!

We love LIme & Basil and it is one of the few places we are willing to wait for a table. The food is consistently good, the service is great, and the price is very reasonable considering the amount of food you get with each meal. We often take leftovers home. What our family loves best is that it we... More
