Great waffles

I'm not a big waffle fan, but when you walk in the first thing you smell is waffles and then you notice all the cooks. We sat at the counter and watched them cook. There were several griddles going; one with only hash browns. I got the waffle with m&ms and my friend got blueberry pancakes. Both... read more

There was quite a line, and the place seems like an old tried and true restaurant, so we went in for a late breakfast. It is a very small and narrow restaurant, with counter seating, booth seating by the kitchen (both exposed to the kitchen and the line of people waiting to sit in the back) and a dining room... I had high hopes for this place, but it's very basic and bland. The waffles were okay, but not particularly crisp, and the grits were boring.

This place has efficiency down pat. Typical diner breakfast menu and quick, no-fuss service. Blueberry waffle was tender inside, crispy outside. Dining room in the rear has plenty of seating. Up front, We enjoyed watching the cooks behind the counter cook eggs to order, flip pancakes and fry hash browned potatoes on the flat top.

It's your basic diner food. The omelets are pretty standard. Weekday breakfast specials from 7-9am. You get what you expect to get from a diner. No more, no less. Good service.

Great service, great food at a great price. Biscuits, real old fashion hash browns, etc., plus waffles. All food is prepared well, to solid Southern standards. Enjoy and go often!

We decided to visit Chapel Hill and stumbled across this restaurant. We were in the mood for breakfast food even though it was lunch and this place did not disappoint. We walked in and there was a short wait of about 5 minutes but we were seated quickly and served promptly. The service was excellent and the food was cooked... More

I was in the mood for pancakes so my husband, and I decided to give this place a try. I was really happy with my blueberry pancakes. They are about 8" in size so I opted for the stack of two. They had just enough sweetness that I didn't need syrup. The decor is probably original and very simple. So... More

Stopped here for breakfast while in Chapel Hill visiting colleges with the family. Narrow storefront on Franklin. Promptly seated early on a Saturday morning, busy but not too crowded. Attentive, friendly service. Went with waffles. Food arrived quickly. Kids loved the M&M waffles, thought it was a fabulous idea. Blueberry waffles had fresh delicious berries on top only-would be nice... More

Although this is supposed to be a Chapel Hill institution, we had hoped for better. Food was OK, but nothing special. Who serves margarine for breakfast instead of butter?
