When you walk through the shadowed glass doors of Talulla's, an instant transformation begins to occur. Your mind and body begin to relax. Your ears pick up on the eclectic mix of music. Your eyes wonder around the walls, decorated in Turkish rugs; then the ceilings, scattered with warm, unique lighting pieces; then the floors... the dark, hardwood floors; and finally, across the plush seating areas, disguised by cushions and pillows and fabric leisurely draped around the frames.

This place just gets better every time we visit and I didn't think it was possible. We started with the house dipping sauce (so addictive) and bread. I had the Adana Kebab which is spicy lamb skewers with yogurt sauce, rice, pita and pickled cabbage. The waiter said it was probably a 6 out of 10 for spicy but I... More

It's easy to fall into the trap of dining the familiar--especially with friends or family who's taste for the unusual may be limited. Try expanding your dining experience and give Talulla's a try! There's plenty to choose from and the menu clearly spells out what's in each dish. My 90 year (young) Mother chose the Sultan's Delight dish and absolutely... More

EVERY bite was delicious. Will definitely come again. The roasted red pepper sauce for the homemade bread was the opening surprise, followed by the cheese and olive platter.

A nice Mediterranean restaurant on Franklin street on Chapel Hill. We had the lamb special. The restaurant has huge Persian rugs on the walls as décor. Muted lighting and some curtained areas for privacy. It is on a nice pedestrian street with lots of after dinner shopping. We went for dinner. Located right next to another nice restaurant - Elaine's.... More

Located on West Franklin Street. Parking is nearly impossible, so avoid the hassle and use the valet parking, free with validation. Interior is dark, Persian rugs (or maybe Turkish?) line the walls, simple wooden furniture - had kind of a 1970s college dorm room feel. Our server wasn't hostile, though she wasn't exactly friendly, either. Bread served with a very... More

If you like anchovies theirs are outstanding, along with the sea bass and the mixed grill. The Turkish white wine served was delicious and the appetizers. I was accompanied by a Syrian and he said it reminded him of the Middle eastern cuisine he was brought up with. Come and enjoy. Great desserts too!

Perfect service and creative, beautifully presented cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is nothing fancy, but impeccably clean and authentically decorated. There were several tables that even had curtains for privacy! Great variety of dishes, and the food was fresh and delicious. My lamb was buttery and tender, accompanied by vegetables that framed it just like the masterpiece that it... More

The menu was interesting and our server was very good. We were going to dine outside, on the sidewalk. Just as our food arrived, the clouds burst open and our server saved both us and the food from getting drenched. The décor is Turkish, I would say, with carpets on the wall and interesting nooks and crannies. There is a... More
