Description: When you walk through the shadowed glass doors of Talulla's, an instant transformation begins to occur. Your mind and body begin to relax. Your ears pick up on the eclectic mix of music. Your eyes wonder around the walls, decorated in Turkish rugs; then the ceilings, scattered with warm, unique lighting pieces; then the floors... the dark, hardwood floors; and finally, across the plush seating areas, disguised by cushions and pillows and fabric leisurely draped around the frames.

We were at this restaurant on a Sunday evening, and only a few tables were filled, so it was delightfully quiet. (Not sure what happens when it's full, but the rugs on the wall should have some sound-baffling function.) We ate indoors, in preference to the outdoor seating which is on a sidewalk next to a busy street. The food... More

I love the cuisine and decor of Tallula's. We went there with my parents to celebrate my partner's graduation from the PhD program in Chapel Hill and were not disappointed. Excellent service, delicious foods.

My wife and I had a superb dinner at Talullahs. The service was very good and the decor was nice, but the food made the evening. While we waited on our order our server brought us a very generous portion of Turkish bread and a roasted pepper/tomato sauce that was very good. Our orders came within a reasonable time and... More

The atmosphere is interesting and the service good. I felt the quality of the food was average and the cost high.

This is a nice little boutiquey Turkish restaurant in Chapel Hill. Great ambiance, with various types of oriental rugs hung on the wall (from Persian to Turkish to Indian when we were there). Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and made menu recommendations for us when asked that were delicious. I had the lamb shank and it was great.... More

My fiance and I stopped in without reservations on a weekend night just to get Turkish coffee and baklava. The host seated us in a raised table in the corner which is partially curtained off from the main dining room. Heavy Turkish drapes, lattice scrolls, beautiful pillows and really just big enough for the two of us (ok, 4 people... More

We ate here during Triangle restaurant week and ate from the special menu with wine pairings. We have never eaten Turkish food before but have eaten in North Africa and the middle East and the food is similar. I can honestly say that the food is the best of that type that I have ever eaten. Not only did the... More

I liked this place -- a lot! The dishes are excellent, and the Turkish bread outstanding. We shared a Mezze platter, which was extremely good if not diverse. Loved the grape leaves. And the guvec was outstanding with vegetables in tomatoes w shrimp (or chicken). For dessert we enjoyed the kunefe.

Talulla's has perhaps the best mediterranean /middle eastern food in Chapel Hill. There is a great range of both mezes (hot and cold) and main courses. The charcoal grilled fish is particularly good, but all of the dishes are very tasty. Having been to Turkey, I can vouch for the food's authenticity. The wine list has a number of good... More
