Description: When you walk through the shadowed glass doors of Talulla's, an instant transformation begins to occur. Your mind and body begin to relax. Your ears pick up on the eclectic mix of music. Your eyes wonder around the walls, decorated in Turkish rugs; then the ceilings, scattered with warm, unique lighting pieces; then the floors... the dark, hardwood floors; and finally, across the plush seating areas, disguised by cushions and pillows and fabric leisurely draped around the frames.

Beautiful restaurant with homemade, authentic Turkish food. Our waiter could not have been better - very attentive but not intrusive, explained the dishes to us and then told us all about his homeland of Turkey. We had such a great time I would go out of my way to stay in the area just to eat here again!

It has been two plus years since we last visited the restaurant. Couldn't remember why we didn't come more since the menu is wonderful, the location is good and the ambience seems great. As this current night wore on, I was reminded many times that the service was awful and the food was mediocre. Our waiter seemed hurried to get... More

My son (adult, not child) and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner. I had the Sultan's Delight; he had the veggie mousakka. Pre-dinner our server brought us bread with a plate of red pepper dipping sauce. It was incredible. We finished it and then eagerly accepted her offer of more. It was so good that we ate it and then were... More

We stopped by for dinner on a Friday evening. We got a table outside to watch the locals walk by. The staff was extremely friendly. Our waiter, Tahir, was from a small town in the east of Turkey. The menu had the standard kebabs plus fresh fish, not unlike the little restaurants on the Gulf of Fethiye off the Aegean... More

We were at this restaurant on a Sunday evening, and only a few tables were filled, so it was delightfully quiet. (Not sure what happens when it's full, but the rugs on the wall should have some sound-baffling function.) We ate indoors, in preference to the outdoor seating which is on a sidewalk next to a busy street. The food... More

I love the cuisine and decor of Tallula's. We went there with my parents to celebrate my partner's graduation from the PhD program in Chapel Hill and were not disappointed. Excellent service, delicious foods.

My wife and I had a superb dinner at Talullahs. The service was very good and the decor was nice, but the food made the evening. While we waited on our order our server brought us a very generous portion of Turkish bread and a roasted pepper/tomato sauce that was very good. Our orders came within a reasonable time and... More

The atmosphere is interesting and the service good. I felt the quality of the food was average and the cost high.

This is a nice little boutiquey Turkish restaurant in Chapel Hill. Great ambiance, with various types of oriental rugs hung on the wall (from Persian to Turkish to Indian when we were there). Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and made menu recommendations for us when asked that were delicious. I had the lamb shank and it was great.... More

My fiance and I stopped in without reservations on a weekend night just to get Turkish coffee and baklava. The host seated us in a raised table in the corner which is partially curtained off from the main dining room. Heavy Turkish drapes, lattice scrolls, beautiful pillows and really just big enough for the two of us (ok, 4 people... More
