When you walk through the shadowed glass doors of Talulla's, an instant transformation begins to occur. Your mind and body begin to relax. Your ears pick up on the eclectic mix of music. Your eyes wonder around the walls, decorated in Turkish rugs; then the ceilings, scattered with warm, unique lighting pieces; then the floors... the dark, hardwood floors; and finally, across the plush seating areas, disguised by cushions and pillows and fabric leisurely draped around the frames.

Fantastic food, authentic atmosphere

Mmm! I've never had anything close to real Turkish food before and I can definitely say this first experience was great. Was here with two friends who confirmed the authenticity of the place and we stuffed ourselves so full we had to take home at least two or three takeout boxes. I really liked... read more

Great food, quiet and efficient service, reasonable price. All in all worth a second visit. Try the lamb and chicken kebabs!

We decided to treat ourselves to dinner out on Christmas and made a reservation through open Table. We arrived early in the evening and the restaurant was maybe 1/4 to 1/3 full. We were promptly seated, had the specials explained to us, and ordered our appetizer and entrees. They brought out wonderful warm bread with a red pepper sauce that... More

There's nothing that my family has ever disliked about Talullas. We go as often as we can. The service and food are great. The atmosphere, food, and friendliness reminds us so much of the Turkish food we loved when we were in Turkey.

The Chapel Hill - Durham area emerged some time ago from cuisine of the heavy southern style that may taste great but should be indulged only now and then if you want to live a long time. The region now offers a strong selection of really good places to eat, a few of which are truly exceptional. Talullas is a... More

This restaurant is really good. The flavors are amazing. Love the appetizers and soups. And desserts are delicious. I feel in Turkey every time I dine here.

There were four of us and we shared a number of delicious dishes. We sampled a variety of old and cold mezzes plus some hummus and a whole bream. The fish was lovely and flaky, but not quite as big as we thought it might be. Nonetheless, we had ordered plenty and really enjoyed tasting everything. Service was pleasant and... More

What a nice changeup to the usual dining on Franklin Street. Menu is always fresh, lively atmosphere and good service. It's fun to reserve the bay window tables.

We had an incredible dining experience with friends and family. We had Caban Salads, their Mezze Platter, which is sample of all their cold appetizers, as well as their Yogurt Kebabs and a few of their Turkish Pizzas! WE were full but made room for their homemade rice pudding and Baklava and we were glad we did! Everything we ate... More

Talullas is more formal than some other options on Franklin Street, Chapel Hill. The meals are truly delicious and savory. A very rich atmosphere.
