I had trout, and while the fish was fine, the tomato based sauce and spinich were not compatible with the fish. The hush puppies were mostly breading, very little corn meal. The key lime pie was a disappointment.

Went here with my daughter, her 19 month old son, a friend from her time working on her PhD. at UNC, and her husband. This is the best seafood I've ever had at an inland restaurant! My daughter's friend had the crabcake which was all crab; I don't know how it held together! My daughter had the seared ahi, which... More

Wonderful straight forward seafood. Food available without distracting fancy sauces. Monday is for lobster sales.

For anyone looking for a good Maine lobster dinner this is your place!!! We drove a half hour from Cary with fingers crossed that Squids would be at least half way decent. I love when my expectations are far exceeded!! The service was great (server: Ian), and the food was awesome....the best boiled lobster dinner we've had in a long... More

We don't get here often, and have always enjoyed it, but when we were there this past Saturday evening, it seemed there wasn't much choice, just the usual fish dishes they've been fixing for years. I did have a fantastic Moroccan salad, and wish I'd just added shrimp to it instead of also ordering a shrimp basket, which had some... More

We've lived in the area for over 20 years and finally made it to Squids. The food was overpriced for the quality but good. The decor is dated. The service was okay. Friends say the quality has declined over the years. Probably won't go back.

We had a mini-family reunion here, and they were super about arranging seating for our group! The food was, always, delicious, and the service excellent. It was decidedly warm inside - you don't expect to need air conditioning in January even in North Carolina - but they were quick to turn on the AC and get everyone comfortable. We will... More

I don't eat seafood - but have to go to Squids often since it is the family's favorite spot - so can't comment on the seafood, but I always have the steak and it is great. The only problem is if you don't eat seafood, you are pretty much limited to 2 dishes - steak or chicken fra diavalo. But... More
