Great restaurant for lunch, dinner or brunch. I always try to dine at Weathervane when in Chapel Hill. Two of us had shrimp & grits...many restaurants feature this dish as a menu item. This is the best of all I have found.

This was my wife's & my treat for my cousin & husband after their hospitality in Canada & North Carolina. There are always some issues with food and how it is cooked but the overall consideration was very good: with an excellent and knowledgeable waitress, ex-New York, who added enormously to the ambience of the evening. Interesting menu, some local... More

I saw that The Weathervane won an award from Open Table about being one of the best 100 places in the country for brunch so decided to check it out. The menu was nothing special so I assumed the food would be really good. I was wrong and am puzzled how such mediocre food won an award. I ordered the... More

The Weathervane Cafe is the restaraunt attached to A Southern Season, the area's awesome everything-kitchen store. The Cafe specializes in fancy ueber-organic fare, always fresh, usually local and in season. It is where you take great-aunts to luncheon to impress them, or possibly the CEO of an international eco firm to show how earth-conscious you are. Service is discreet, there... More

LOVE going in the fall/early winter when they have butternut squash soup- delicious! BUT last time we were there, they were out so it was disappointed. Their ravioli specials are usually to die for as well. Good fresh food just a bit over priced so bring a credit card. Best part is shopping right next door!!

We have been to A Southern Season before and always enjoy shopping there for cool and unique gifts and food items. It's quite an experience. Last Saturday we found a local online special for the Restaurant inside called the Weathervane Cafe. It was a full pancake breakfast for $ 5.00. We really enjoyed the breakfast the pancakes were made with... More

Had lunch with large family group after graduation at UNC and as always, the Weathervane delivered a wonderful meal. The service and the food exceeded expectations. Even on the busiest weekend of the year when all schools are holding graduations, the Weathervane had our table ready and waiting, the waiter was friendly and helpful, and the food well cooked and... The staff was friendly, polite, and very knowledgeable. Each course was exquisite and eloquently presented. I loved the decor as well as the ambience. Fine dining reasonably priced. My son knows what I like!
