Great place for a large group!

We reserved the mezzanine for a group of 18 and they provided hor d'oeurves, a sit down dinner with 3 entree choices and alcohol that we picked out. It was lovely and quiet and a wonderful place to gather.

Came here for a business dinner to recruit residency candidates. Atmosphere was quiet and we were well attended to throughout the evening. Everyone commented on how great their entrees were multiple times!

Although we have never been fans of an uninspiring decor and menu at The Weathervane Cafe, we decided to combine our shopping at Southern Season with a light brunch on late Saturday morning. The place was packed! We get it, Saturday, one of the first days after artic temperatures and slippery roads. But what we witnessed at the bar section... More

Upon arriving for our 5pm reservation on 02/14 we were seated at a table in the center of the lower level. We requested to be re-seated at a 2 person table along the wall. We were informed that they weren't available, stating that the tables weren't necessarily requested but pre-assigned by their reservation system. Considering the restaurant was practically empty... Following a change in ownership the restaurant and the entire gourmet store and wine shop operation lost its ambiance, its unique hi service and customer touch. Unfortunately the Weathervane Cafe has been similarly ruined. The redecoration made the restaurant seem sterile and not not welcoming. The menu lost its surprising and fresh menu items. The wine selection is still very... More

There was a large group of us who all came out and tried a ton of dishes and everything was really good! We got appetizers, meals, ice creams and everything was great...our only complaint was that the fish was a bit overcooked and dry. Would definitely come back and try something different next time!

I was visiting in Chapel Hill...I am a big fan of Shrimp & Grits...have tried it at many restaurants in various locations. Weathervane is the best. Also many other selections...sandwiches,salads,some heavier food...all well prepared & served with class. The wait staff is well trained...very good management here.

The Weathervane is an institution in Chapel Hill. We used to go there after every year end graduation. The salmon is my favorite dish, their salads are excellent and I've never had bad dish here. Sometimes a little noisy, there is an upstairs you can request which is quieter.

Great place for a bite for lunch or dinner. Menu is good southern fare. Pimento cheese balls are the best. After dining a stop in the southern seasons store is a must. Great shopping and take out food.

I have eaten here three times and have never been disappointed. Most recently I was there for lunch on Sunday with family. I always have a hard time choosing what to get due to all the great choices. I have found the wait staff to be extremely helpful and sincere. The food is fresh and high quality. And before or... More
