Surprisingly Great Place to Eat While Browsing at Shoppers!

My daughter arranged for us to eat Brunch at the Weathervane while we were visiting her in Chapel Hill and while we were little skeptical about eating inside a Southern Season's store, we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious all the food was! The menu holds the promise of many fine taste treats. Indeed the service and presentation are well done, however the proof is in, well, the tasting. The afternoon we were there, apparently the chicken salad sandwich is the winner. Actually the ones we make at home are better, but it became the best item on the menu. Other items were... More

Just stopped by for lunch (3/18) while visiting UNC. The hostess seated us and we waited 30 minutes for someone to come to at least take our drink order. No one ever came over to our table. The restaurant looked fully staffed so I don't know what the problem was. We walked out after 30 minutes and the hostess looked... More

My husband and I had brunch here on Saturday. The food was good and so was the service. We normally spend less on meals out but like to treat ourselves sometimes.

I stopped with my daughter for lunch looking forward to a wonderful meal. Much to my disappoinment, it was not good at all. I ordered a triple salad plate that included shrimp salad, chicken salad and a cucumber salad. The shrimp salad was drowning in dressing, the chicken salad was so dry I strugled to swallow it and the cucumber... More

I hosted a business dinner there recently and everyone was very pleased with the food and service. The chef and his team were absent, participating in a competition so we were a little worried about the food but our concerns were unfounded. Everything arrived on time and was well prepared. The service was attentive but not pushy. I would thoroughly... More

We reserved the mezzanine for a group of 18 and they provided hor d'oeurves, a sit down dinner with 3 entree choices and alcohol that we picked out. It was lovely and quiet and a wonderful place to gather.

Came here for a business dinner to recruit residency candidates. Atmosphere was quiet and we were well attended to throughout the evening. Everyone commented on how great their entrees were multiple times!

Although we have never been fans of an uninspiring decor and menu at The Weathervane Cafe, we decided to combine our shopping at Southern Season with a light brunch on late Saturday morning. The place was packed! We get it, Saturday, one of the first days after artic temperatures and slippery roads. But what we witnessed at the bar section... More
