They need more vegetarian choices

I went here for lunch with a friend the other day and, although what I ordered was good, I felt that there weren't very many vegetarian choices from which to pick. There were a few, but only a few, and they weren't that imaginative. This restaurant is in the shop, Southern Seasons, but you can... read more

I have wanted to visit this restaurant, but never made it a priority until July 4 when we were looking for something different for our weekly Saturday brunch. We thought the food was very well prepared and presented. My husband said his grits were the best he has ever had. I am not a grits fan, so I will take... More

Family brunch at Weathervane was most enjoyable. Vegetarian Eggs Benedict a tasty change. Sinful home fries and the lightest biscuits. All the simple things done to perfection.

We've thoroughly enjoyed The Weathervane on our visits to family in Chapel Hill. Excellent food, good service and a great location next to Southern Season - one of our favorite food and cooking stores. My wife and I particularly enjoy a leisurely breakfast or lunch followed by meandering walk through Southern Season. The cuisine is contemporary but with a lovely... More

The menu is a good mix of full and light fare and always flavourful. We particularly enjoy the outdoor seating which allows for an intimate setting. The staff is wonderful.

Had dinner here with another couple this week. They had not been here before and loved the restaurant. We ate on Saturday night and they had 50% off of all wines, and a free dessert if you ordered a full sixed entrée - what a nice surprise.

On a steamy hot Sunday we went to the Weathervane for lunch. We both chose the duck and wild mushroom hash. It arrived in a small skillet which contained mostly chopped up roast potato, some slivers of duck and a few miniscule fragments of mushroom. Two poached eggs were on top of the mixture. Some fried onions would have been... More

We live near the Weathervane and go there sporadically and either food or service is a problem. A group of 9 friends decided to eat there after going to Fridays Uncorked wine tasting. It was restaurant week and there was a prix fix menu that looked good. The appetizer course, 8 of the 9 came out. 1 person had to... More

The Weathervane is quite near us, but we don't go often enough. It has a large indoor area as well as outdoor eating. As it is in a shopping mall, there is plenty of parking. We weren't out for a big meal and what we had was perfect. We shared a wonderful fried green tomatoes appetizer. Then we both enjoyed... More

We recently held our younger son's rehearsal dinner at The Weathervane Restaurant in their mezzanine. The setting was perfect! The flowers were beautiful, the wines perfect and the food outstanding. After dinner, we held a private party for out-of-town guests in the bar. Along with hors d'oeuvres, there was a cash bar with our own bartender. Everyone had a wonderful... More
