The menu and offerings are truly Northern Italian; the wine list offers many interesting Italian wines and the wait staff knowledgeable and helpful. For starters, I had a wonderful roasted chestnut soup with grappa cream--my wife had an excellent and interesting salt-roasted beet salad with gorganzola dolci. Our main courses (secondi) were braised beef with a light and creamy polenta... More

Located in the Siena hotel. Ample parking. Our servers were helpful, fast, and pleasant, but my wife was so put off by the supercilious attitude of the maitre d'/wine steward that she gave the manager an earful as we left. The three of us split the calamari appetizer and the kale Caesar salad. The calamari had a bite, but was... More

Nice omelette, but as with all onsite restaurants, it was kind of pricey. Also, I ordered coffee ($3), then later realized it was free in the lobby, so get your cup before you go in!

We were staying at the hotel and reserved the package that included dinner. Really enjoyed the drinks and food. I had a whole fish that was easy to eat, asked before ordering. Light and very tasty. I can't recall what my husband ordered, but do remember he was very pleased with his choice. The wine was excellent. I would recommend... More

Friends and I stayed at the Siena Hotel and ate at Il Palio for dinner one night, and for breakfast one day. The food was excellent (the pumpkin soup was the best I ever had) It was noon when we got there the 2nd day, and they had stopped serving the breakfast menu (we were hoping for a brunch-type meal).... This was one of the best meals we've had in the last year...and we've had a lot of great ones. Service was impeccable...food was utterly amazing...ambiance just perfect to celebrate my husband's birthday. We've visited Siena, Italy, and Il Palio serves it's memory well. We live in St Louis but our favorite nephew and niece live in Chapel Hill...we will... More

Starting with one of the best Manhattan's I've had recently, to the veal cheek ossobuco, to the flawless service....Il Palio is worthy of 5-stars in any city. Connected to the lobby of the Siena Hotel, this is one of Chapel Hill's finest restaurants. Very highly recommended.
