Stunning & refreshing efficiency--amazing food

In Chapel Hill on business I was fortunate to secure a seat in the back bar area for a painfully quick dinner. Circumstances required I be in and out within 40 minutes. I explained this to the mixologists at the bar and they assured me this would not be a problem and went a step further to suggest... read more

Went with a large party last week. The majority found the food fantastic. A few were less than wowed. I had the tea spice chicken with the fried rice which was very good but not as good as my spring roll pork appetizer. Japanese pot on fire and flounder also got rave reviews. Wok seared rice noodles were fine. Grape... More

As newbies to Chapel Hill and Carrboro, we visited this place from TA reviews. The atmosphere was elegant, dimly lit and the Staff was engaging. The food was brought out timely and the Flavors were right. Portions are reasonable - meaning not too much and not too little. We had dumplings - 5 to a serving and enough for two... More

There is simply no way to explain how special this restaurant is. It is on a par with many of the fine Asian restaurants in the Bay Area of California. Not to be missed.

A Fusion restaurant , with a well trained staff , prompt service by all, but you never felt rushed. The dumplings, being freshly made, were a delight to taste, both as to texture and fillings. Try the local craft beer a pleasant amber lager. Definitely worthy of a revisit next in CH.

Lantern Restaurant is in my top 5 of best places I have ever eaten. The place itself is beautiful, and elegantly furnished: something you would not expect from a college town restaurant. The food is outstanding, it seriously belongs to somewhere you would expect in NYC, or London, or Paris. It also has a back bar which is very elegant... More

Head to the back bar, order a craft cocktail, and by all means, order the Fried Pawns...they are shell on, with fried herbs and they are AH-MAZING!!!

This restaurant was always a must when we went to visit our daughter when she was in college. We were pleased to see that it was still as good as we remembered. We started out with drinks and appetizers at the bar which has a really cool atmosphere. The shrimp, dumplings and spring rolls were very good. Loved the trout... More

Walking through the dining area, we decided to eat at the bar which has its own mystique with low lighting and reddish hues. The offering of innovative lip lcking cocktails are not to be missed along with their tasty appetizers such as Korean Fried Chicken and salt & pepper shrimp.

The food was wonderful and the service great. It is in a great location right in the center of Chapel Hill. Was there several years ago and when I was back in the area made sure to visit again!
