I had several friends tell me this place was great and difficulties in getting a reservation led me to believe this was true. Our meal was ok but nothing special. The salt and pepper shrimp were the highlight. The dumplings were fine, but the pork was slightly better than the mushroom ones. I split the whole fish with my friend.... More

The atmosphere is quiet which is very much to our taste. The food is good, although the last time we were there, the soup was almost cold and it wasn't a cold soup. However, the rest of our meal was very good and we enjoyed it.

Lantern's food is superb, and perhaps we encountered a holiday wait-staff when we visited Lantern during Christmas week, but our dinner then was something of a comedy of errors. Three out of four correct starters, but none was presented to the correct diner... If there is a large table, this is a bit more understandable, but for a table of... More

The other positive reviews are generally on target. However, we have found that the appetizers are almost always fantastic while the entrees are hit or miss. Get yourself a deliciously refreshing Junebug (Lantern's take on Pimm's cup), and a couple of apps and I promise that you will walk out happier than when you walked in. Our favorite apps include:... The service was excellent. The food was good but the scallops were salty and the rice was plain and average. The dessert was excellent.

We had a fabulous meal at this restaurant. The chaat was full of flavor and the base of crispy black lentils was amazing. The steamed steelhead trout melted in your mouth and was served with coconut jasmine rice, a cucumber salad, and a delicious light broth. The persimmon bread pudding was absolutely fabulous, served warm with whipped cream. A very... More

Located on Franklin Street, adjacent to a public lot. Small -- not an easy place to get reservations! Attentive service, noise level manageable. The restaurant features a fusion of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese food. We split the black mushroom and cabbage dumplings, basically high end pot-stickers. My mother had Moon-viewing hotpot with soba noodles, root vegetables, mushrooms and an egg.... More

Fantastic time at the lantern restaurant. Food was impeccable and ambience was very chill. We were seated in the bar area because they were out of room in the dining area. Everyone was still happy. Great place!

After reading many wonderful reviews my Husband and I finally made it to Lantern. The highlight for me was the Tom Yum soup- AMAZING and my Husband's pork dumplings were really great. As others have noted the entrees were not as spectacular- I had the salmon bento box and the salmon was super salty which detracted from the meal. My... More
