Food is really overpriced. One person had the pho. It was terrible and 20.00. We had pho that was 100 times better in DC for 8 dollars. In addition to being a lot less expensive in DC, it was about 3 servings. Whole fish was 29.00 and just OK. We had a better fish at Gourmet Kingdom and that one... More

The food here is truly spectacular. The combination of flavors and textures and temperatures makes for a spectacular meal. In addition the service could not be better. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. We split a bunch of appetizers and he made sure to deliver them so that our table was never to crowded . Outstanding!!!

My wife and I had never been to Lantern before but had heard good things about it. The couple with us had been once before. My first impression was that I had come to a diner rather than a high-end restaurant. The tables were quite close together, the lights were bright, and the noise level was high. We were seated... great Asian fusion place. The food is solidly very good. It's a bit loud for an intimate dinner, but otherwise a fun place.

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner recently - it had been on my list of places to try for some time. Décor is minimalist, but food, presentation and service were all excellent! Interesting menu choices. My husband had the whole fish and I had the pork shank special. All came with wonderful spices and sauces and were... More

We had a wonderful dinner for four here. We ordered the chaat and the charcuterie for appetizers. Although I loved my entree (chicken), my favorite part of the meal was the chaat. The chickpeas were crunchy and flavorful. Everyone enjoyed the charcuterie plate and there was plenty for the four of us to share. Two members of our party ordered... More

We came here on the recommendation of several other area restaurants and they were absolutely right in urging us to try the Lantern while we were visiting in the UNC area. We tried a variety of appetizers and all of us enjoyed our main courses. Very innovative flavors and preparations. Great taste experience. And as an unexpected surprise, outstanding cocktails.... My husband took me to the Lantern for my birthday while we were visiting Chapel Hill/Carrboro. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the service couldn't be better. We left full and happy. We will return!

An overhyped restaurant that I have been going to for years, when it was new it was an amazing fresh take on Asian fusion, but over the years it has had little change in their cuisine, the service is great and they have great cocktails, you will definitely enjoy it but it is overhyped for sure, especially since I have... Local ingredients, wonderful use of spices and seasonings, and a patient/helpful wait staff. In a word, YUM! I know YUM is a bit simplified, but in going there to celebrate first anniversary of daughter and son-in-law, we had a truly marvelous meal and dining experience. This was the choice of our kids. Being newly weds, they are on a limited... More
