We just enjoyed three splendidly different scrumptious meals at Cholanad. I don't care for really spicy food and I enjoyed the new tastes of a DOSA,thin "pancakes" made out of green lentils stuff with mango and homemade cheese as well as onions and spice. My daughter had the star of the dinner the cauliflower fried and then roasted or baked.... More

The restaurant has an excellent ambience and one of their Chefs Subhaash is very friendly. He takes a lot of effort to explain the dish which is artistically served on your table. The food is very authentic and just unbeatable in quality. Their dinner portions are very generous (for the cost you pay). I have had their Paneer Tikka Masala,... More

I'm not too familiar w/ Indian food and did enjoy the tikka masala that was recommended by my friends. I had it w/ brussel sprouts. The naan was very good, especially when we ordered it w / garlic! Wait staff was very attentive!

We were excited to try this restaurant in Chapel Hill as we enjoy Indian food and this place has a nice contemporary vibe. The samosas appetizer was good and the biryani was delicious. Unfortunately, the main dishes arrived barely two minutes into the appetizer. The chicken tikka masala was not spicy or memorable, served with flat naan (missed opportunity). Try... More

I've had Indian food all around the world, and can honestly say that Cholanad is some of the best I've had. They do specialize in south Indian, seafood, but its all good!

I love coming over and over to Cholanaad to enjoy the food. I'm amazed and excited to try different items on the menu as I love them all. Their Dosa (crepe) dishes are excellent and are the only ones in the Triangle area that offer with meat. I love the uniqueness of eating fish curry with dosa (crepe) and the... More

this place has decent interiors, the ambience is well, subject to a little more room, but above all - really nice food. the tiger veg dosa is insanely large and tasty. but watch out for your wallet!

You need to book to avoid disappointment - this restaurant is recommended by the number of patrons from southern India who enjoy its food. The food is very tasty, presented in sensible portion sizes and varied, tasting of spices rather than flavouring or being just 'hot'. Wait staff are very helpful and will recommend dishes for new diners. The atmosphere... More

I've recently eaten Southern Indian, and particularly Tamil, food in 5 star hotel restaurants in Sri Lanka, and this is as good as any of them. CholaNad isn't your ordinary Indian curry house. Unsure what to order for 3 of us to share, the waitress pointed us in absolutely the right way. It was nice to have the help. Get... More

I grew up eating curry and Indian dishes - Durban South Africa has a large Indian and Pakistani population and there were more options than even I could experience! Living in America for the past 20 plus years I have yearned for a meal that could satisfy the senses in the same way those dinners and lunches in Durban did.... More
