Need to clean bathrooms more often! Kind servers, food is most often well prepared. Have sometimes received over cooked chicken which was blackened and dry. Bland rice. Lassi is inspired as well as their signature lemonade with lavender. Good food, a little more attention by the cleaning crew would make us feel a lot more confident!

We love Indian Food and Vimala's is our favorite in Chapel Hill. Tucked into a court yard just off Franklin Street, the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Very casual; check out the menu and order at the counter, then food is delivered to your table. We love the Behl salad, saag paneer, lamb curry, chick pea curry, and... More

Visited our Chapel Hill kid and her yoga studio is nearby. Decided to try Vimala's. Wow. Loved the goat curry, fish curry and the side dishes. Incredible lassi and lavender lemonade. Go. Eat. Go back. We will.

Vimala's Curryblossom Café was not what I had expected. I walked in thinking I was going to a normal Indian restaurant and became a fan of the not-so-normal Vimala's Curryblossom Café! I was late, and I maybe went to a restaurant as they were closing. Thank you for staying open. The food was wonderful, the experience too and to top... More

I very much enjoy Indian food, as do all of the people I was with when we visited Vimala's. All of us are vegetarians, and they did have a fair amount of vegetarian options, which was nice. However, none of us were particularly impressed with our orders. What were ordered were traditional Indian dishes, but they were not prepared in... More

We were taken here for dinner by family who live nearby. All four had Thali platters with various choices of Tandoori Chicken, Chicken curry, etc. All were enthusiastically enjoyed. I loved the variety of flavors. Service was very friendly and prompt.

While visiting our child in Chapel Hill, I tried to eat here as often as possible just because it is different and delicious. It is way too hot and spicy for my husband and one of our children. The other child loves it also. The Chloe Bowl with Bhatura is so delicious and so is the Masala Dosa with potato... More

I think this is the best place in Chapel Hill. They have amazing food and service, and with Vimala's progressive policies (feeding those who can't afford to pay for the food, living wages, etc), it's very representative of "excellence with a heart"- what the city/university aspire to be. I'm also very thankful for all the vegan options!

As a Brit living in Chapel Hill finding good Indian food was a necessity. Here we find home style food of fantastic quality without bells and whistles - just like my home town, Leicester, in the UK. If you want sophistication go down the road. If you want affordable, high quality food cooked with love go no further. This is... More
