Unfortunately we only found The Cork and Barrel on the last night of our stay in Cashiers-Sapphire Valley. The food was by far the best we had in the area. Great service with a friendly but subdued atmosphere. It is a wine bar, and I would not think it would be appropriate for families with children.

I love the overstuffed chairs and sofas. It's like sitting in your den, having a cocktail and heavy appetizers. Located only 6.5 miles from The Woods at Buc

We were a group of 9 women friends meeting for drinks and a bite to eat and this is the ideal spot for that in this small mountain town. If you are choosing between here and Mica's, there is no choice;come here. I am not trying to be unkind to Micas but the personalized atmosphere provided by the owner and... More

This is a great place to hang out with your friends and sit back and sip. The owner, Dick Howard, makes you feel special every time you come in. They offer great tapas at a great price. Their sister restaurant, Table 64, is located 2 doors down and offers an incredible selection of tapas too. A must if visiting Cashiers.

Good bar and Tapas, always delicious. Friendly service, and they have a new larger restaurant next door.

We stopped in the first evening after checking in next door at the Hampton Inn. Service was pleasant, helpful and attentive. We sat at the bar. Plenty of beer and wine options. Wine servings were generous by most accounts. The "tapas" were enjoyable but more Americanized than Spanish tapas. Something for everyone. We had a nice evening and meal and... More

Diverse and imaginative tapas menu at Table 64. We had diver scallops, olive tapenade roulade, Parmesan crusted cauliflower bites and yummy profiteroles for dessert. The wine list is well chosen and reasonably priced.service was friendly and attentive. The chef was CIA trained and his flavor combinations were subtle and rich. The ambiance was tasteful, and quiet. A real treat we look... More

A well decorated and comfortable tapas bar along 64 and Sapphire Valley, NC.lounge in lovely leather chairs or sit at the bar. Many locals will appear alongside Sapphire Valley visitors. Enjoy tasty and imaginative food items fresh from the kitchen along with your favorite drinks. We find it a great place for a light meal for two and often bring... More

We enjoyed the Cork and Barrel for some Tapas and a glass of wine. The establishment is in a little strip center right in Sapphire Valley, a rock's throw from a nice Hampton Inn. You can actually walk from the hotel if you like. The place is apparently taking more space next door and will offer an expanded menu. Very... More

A tapas menu with hard choices among many tempting items. And no disappointment in the selections we did make; the food was excellent. Surprisingly, our server said we could fare even better at a newly opened sister establishment next door. "The chef there is fabulous," she stressed. "We just sort of compile the food." Maybe, but there was nothing to... More
