Cuisines: Tapas
Description: Only opened for one year, a gem of a place in the mountains of Sapphire and Cashiers North Carolina. The owner, Dick Howard, understands "customer" and "hospitality." Great food (tapas), great presentations, matched with great cocktails at reasonable prices. The ambiance is dressy casual, with great jazz music quietly played in the background. Once discovered, it became a regular for us. We visit this area of the country every six months and look forward to seeing Dick Howard and his wonderful staff in the fall.

This is a great place to hang out with your friends and sit back and sip. The owner, Dick Howard, makes you feel special every time you come in. They offer great tapas at a great price. Their sister restaurant, Table 64, is located 2 doors down and offers an incredible selection of tapas too. A must if visiting Cashiers.

Good bar and Tapas, always delicious. Friendly service, and they have a new larger restaurant next door.

Diverse and imaginative tapas menu at Table 64. We had diver scallops, olive tapenade roulade, Parmesan crusted cauliflower bites and yummy profiteroles for dessert. The wine list is well chosen and reasonably priced.service was friendly and attentive. The chef was CIA trained and his flavor combinations were subtle and rich. The ambiance was tasteful, and quiet. A real treat we look... More

Another peaceful retreat at SV. We try to get away a Often. We try to visit local establishments and were sitting at our old watering hole. Mica's. After one drink we were bored. Someone called the bar and asked what game they were playing on the TV. They only had the bucs vs saints. The bartender said if you go... More

We have visited this little restaurant twice; we have been pleasantly surprised. The tapas were very good and the service was excellent - polite, efficient and courteous. The atmosphere was a bit noisy but it is, after all, a lounge.

While out on a motorcycle ride through some of the most stunning areas of the country, we stumbled upon this lovely little establishment. Beautifully decorated, well staffed and brilliantly done. We didn't have any food but we all swore we'd go back. It was that special!

We been to the Cork and Barrel several times over the past two years and it is always a good night out. We love the room. It's the mountain version of "Cheers", a comfortable lounge with a great bar, several hi-tops and three or four seating areas with comfy chairs and coffee tables. We really enjoy the small plates menu... More

We visited several times during our all-to-brief stay in SV. Either side of the house, tapas bar or restaurant is great. A bit more sophisticated than Micas, our other favorite "every day" hangout in SV.

Stopped in this evening for a light dinner. We sat on the bar side where we could watch some of the Sweet 16. The bar appears to be smoke free, which we appreciate. It is a small and intimate space, perfect for couples but a large group would overrun the place. My husband ordered Buffalo wings, which he really enjoyed.... More
