With the mountain as a backdrop to this great restaurant with it's own veggie garden and hen's is awesome. The prefix meal we had for $48 was delicious and well prepared. This high-end but still mountain elegant casual restaurant is the best you can find in Cashiers. the wine list has something for everyone. Make your reservation early to be... More

I've been fortunate to attend a couple of fundraisers at Lonesome Valley. Not only the food is good - the setting is spectacular. Breathtaking actually - sipping a glass of wine outside, you simply marvel at the view before you. Now - the Canyon Spa has opened in the old caretaker's cottage offering 5-star service. The staff at the Spa... More

What is there not to like at Canyon Kitchen? The early problems concerning the waitstaff, which are mostly college students, have been resolved. The atmosphere is casually elegant and the high ceiling and Lonesome Valley vistas are beyond compare. Then, there is the food. Use any superlative and you are there. The pastry chef is consistently excellent. The wine list is replete with... More

Canyon Kitchen hit a real high mark with the prix-fix dinner. $58/pp is not exactly cheap, but the quality of the food was great. You can't beat the view, the barn, the vegetable garden - all in all a very nice setting. Warning - make reservations early as it fills fast Also, know that they early reservations and late reservations.... More

Looking out on the mountain backyard with a perfect martini in your hand, it's hard to believe you're not in heaven. The prix fixe menu offers outstanding choices - all great. The first courses may seem small, but don't worry. After dessert you will be more than satisfied. Great food and a fine wine list.

The ambiance is breathtaking! We checked the menu before arriving so no surprises with the cost or menu. Our expectations were that we would enjoy a fine dining 'experience'. Instead we had a rushed experience. We ordered one of the specialty blueberry cocktails and before our second sip, the starter was served-a single medium size shrimp deliciously adorned. The empty... It's hard to out do the spectacular views of the balds of the sides of the canyon that suround the restaurant. It takes your breath away as you drive into Lonesome Valley. It sets the tone for the remarkable dining experience you enjoy every time you visit. The food is excellent ... not too fussy. The atmosphere is mountain comfortable.... More

Don't get me wrong, this place is beautiful. Nature at it's best. But that is where it stops. My daughter called Sarah to look at having her wedding there. During this phone conversation Sarah told her that our wedding date was 'completely free'. So we booked a time to come and see the place in person 6 days later. After... More
