Really a nice restaurant except for the Mgr. He is rude and unfriendly. Food, atmosphere and service is good. Prices are high but they have a appetizer menu that offers great selections.

This restaurant has it all. The rustic decor and atmosphere immediately set the tone when you enter. The menu is varied offering upscale preparations of both familiar and unique local foods. The Brasstown Pork Chop and Baby Back Ribs were very tasty. The Turtle Stew was a treat. Lastly, the wait staff is superbly trained and carry out their duties... More

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The exterior is unassuming, but the food was wonderful. Unique main courses and desserts that were tremendous. One of our party said that the sighs of delight while eating probably should be reserved for the adult TV channels!

Had dinner with my family at the gamekeepers tavern while vacationing up in Cashiers. We decided to go with an early dinner. We were only the 3rd group on people in the main dining area. The food was very good and unique and the atmosphere is very relaxing but the wait staff kept staring and hovering over our table. I... More

The menu offers interesting varieties of game - elk, quail, bison - as well as some fish options. The bacon wrapped quail is outstanding and the bison burger is delicious. Don't miss the grilled ceaser salad. The wine selection is adequate. If the weather allows, request a seat outside by the fireplace. Seats in the dining room by the front... More

First off, our waiter was the best waiter ever. The food was really good. However, it is New Years Eve and they were basically out of almost everything on the menu at our 6pm reservation. Apparently this is there last night of the season. They were out of 2 of the 4 specials and 3 things on their very limited... More

Our family traveled to cashiers for Christmas, our first trip to the area. In looking at dining options for the area, gamekeepers tavern caught our eye due to the wide ranging menu, including elk, bison, and lamb, but also providing basic options like beef and fish for our kids. Our expectations were far exceeded- as every dish was both delicious... More

We enjoyed a great and reasonably priced meal here. We ate in the bar area which we found to be more personable than the larger open area. Staff were great.

If you would like to enjoy good venison, elk, bison, quail, or even kangaroo, prepared in interesting ways, try The Gamekeeper's Tavern. The fresh fish of the day could be a surprise that you don't see everywhere. There are less adventurous choices for those who don't care for wild game. The ingredients are fresh, often seasonal, and organic when practical.... More

This was our first visit to the gamekeepers tavern. Based on the name and look of the exterior, we were expecting more of a sports bar atmosphere. However, it is anything but that. The interior is upscale and the food is phenomenal!! Well worth the trip!!
