Oustanding dining experience

I do love An, and I would recommend you pay it a visit. However, this is not the venue it used to be. Yes, the staff remain exemplary and but the entire menu has changed with some of the replacements (the Sea Bass for example) being less satisfying than previous. The extraordinarily large sushi has been replaced by smaller bites... More

We visited An for the first time on a Monday evening for dinner. The building is impressive. The bar area is somewhat plain, but the dining room decor is extremely well done. We were very pleased with our dining experience from the beginning to the very end. We were served by Katherine who was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Her... More

Went to An Cousines with my wife last night and had an enjoyable dinner till the end of the meal when we ordered coffee. I had decaf Cappuccino and my wife had plain decaf. As we're always concerned about being served regular instead of decaf, I double checked with the waiter when we were served to make sure we were... More

It was my husband's birthday weekend which happened to be a Valentine's Day. The atmosphere was great. As you walked in you just felt like you knew it would be a great night. Our waitress was great and attentive. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it tasted wonderful. They also served us many complimentary items, such as coconut biscuits,... More

This is my 6th or 7th time visiting An, and yet again I have not been disappointed. From the elegant, modern decor, to the unrivaled service, and the exquisite cuisine... I initially heard about An while visiting the Umstead Hotel. If you've been to the Umstead, you know only to expect excellence from their recommendations. This establishment will continue to... This was my first visit, for a special occasion. We sat there for 30 minutes before the server had time to come to our table. We didn't mind so much. I ordered the hot pot. I have had hot pots all over the world and love nearly all soups and stews. The beef broth was so strongly beef flavored (and... More

It's a beautiful place. The food was average and expensive. They forgot the sauce on my sea bass. My wife tasted the sea bass also. The sauce really had no flavor after it was added. Her shrimp dish was presented well but not very tasteful.

This is an extraordinary dining experience; we return whenever we want a delicious unusual dining experience, in a subdued classy setting with professional cordial service. Each dish is a culinary marvel.
