casual lunch - good food

We were in town for work and stopped by here for lunch. The salsa bar was tasty and the tacos and guacamole were good. The ordering of food on the little notepads was interesting. Prices were good and the food was fresh and tasty.

This could be the best tostada I have had, and I have had quite a few. The beef is marinated, grilled, and tender. It comes with either black beans or refries and a smear of guac. This item is almost on par with a place in San Diego called Roberto's and their carna asada burrito.

The food is good, the atmosphere not so much. I ordered tacos with avocado (which is extra) and could not taste the avocado because they added so little. But everyone enjoyed their food, kids and adults alike, and we ordered a good variety. It was a Sunday (Mother's Day and UNC's commencement), but there was no one else there when... More

After living in Dallas for ten years, it has been awfully hard to find a good Tex-Mex restaurant in this area. We dined today at Armadillo's, having the chalupa's, chips and salsa. The tortilla was wonderful, thin, and crispy. The ingredients were fresh and plenty of guacamole. The only negative is the way they serve it. It comes in a... More

With their in house made flour tortillas, queso, salsa and other items this place is a local favorite. Though Mexican fare is their staple, so are their wings--BBQ or Buffalo style. Additionally their "Dillo Deal" offerings make your meal even more affordable.

Being a Texan, this is the only place that comes close with soft chicken or steak fajita tacos. Everyone else has bland meat - here they actually season everything and have homemade tortillas. Good, quick simple tex-mex tacos. I know lots of folks go there for wings too - I'm not a wing eater myself.

We ate here one day in July 2013 and it was unimpressive, at best. With so many other choices around, we were sorry we stopped and dined at The Armadillo Grill. Don't bother.

This is a fast restaurant - you come in and mark your order on a pad, hand it to the check out person, go get your drinks, find a seat, and wait for your name to be called. In winter try NOT to sit in line with the front door! COLD air coming in every time folks enter. The food... More

Great place for families, students and senior citizens. Laid back atmosphere with friendly staff. Bluegrass music on Tuesdays is a great attraction, too. For adults, there is a bar upstairs and also seating with tables outside for warm weather dining. Casual dress is the rule. Food good and inexpensive.

"The 'dillo" is my go to place for lunch when I'm having a bad day, for a fast bite to eat when I don't want to cook, a great place to bring a gaggle of kids....I love it so much my son gave me a home made gift certificate to the 'dillo for my birthday. Nice outside seating...the bar is... More
