A must on every visit!

My daughter-in-law suggested that I try the apple-cheddar dog in the pretzel bun; now I have to get one every time I am in town! This is a charming place. I happened to see it reviewed on Unique Eats. Nothing fancy, but all ingredients are fresh and prepared on the spot. My husband loves the egg... read more

We had biscuit sandwiches for breakfast. One was the special of the day -- egg, spinach, sweet peppers, and cheese. The other was egg, pastrami and swiss. All were very,, very good. The biscuits are large and melt in your mouth. Nice vibe in the place. Neal's gets all its ingredients locally and lists the sources. Yet another Carrboro great... More

I haven't done much deli since I moved away from the northeastern US years ago, but Neal's is exceptional and worth going back to. They offer traditional deli fare, with some Southern twists, incorporating a lot of ingredients sourced locally and based on seasonal availability. Don't be scared off by the lack of parking; you can use the free municipal... More

We visited with a group on a food tour and was soooo impressed by the freshly made corned beef and pimento cheese. Can't wait to visit again!

The Manhattan is not the cheapest sandwich on the menu but by far it is the best! They do not make any sandwiches ahead of time so it's guaranteed fresh each and every time. When you want to treat yourself to something special try it!

Hadn't seen my friend, David, in 47 years. We met at Weaver Street Market and walked a block away to Neal's Deli. Both of us had a pastrami plate and collard greens. As sides, David had a soup and I had beets. He drank coffee, I drank water. The food was good, the service was friendly and cheerful and the... More

Sat outside on a nice warm Fall day. Very good soup and an excellent pastrami platter. Staff brought the food out and were very friendly and helpful.

Everything was delicious. The fresh ingredients in the homemade soup stands out. My son had the hot dogs on bretzel and I was surprised how delicious the hot dogs even were. Definitely a great place to eat with fresh ingredients. Service was great too.

Good for breakfast and amazing for lunch. Small, busy, crowded, a tad pricey, and more than worth all that and more. Matt Neal's family brought fine dining to Chapel Hill, and he has added a wonderful deli to to the family tradition. Fresh food cooked to order.

We didn't get there in time for breakfast, which came highly recommended, but had the hot dogs, which were really good, and served on "brezels" (my husband got mustard, I got kraut). The potato salad was good, but I was full before I got to it. I tried one of the Boylan's sodas (root beer), thinking that they must be... More
