Everything Fried

We chose this place our first night in Carolina Beach. It was your typical beach seafood place, nothing fancy, but affordable. It's fine if you like fried as everything on the menu is fried. Would have preferred some other options.

From the outside it looks a little rough but the staff is amazingly nice, the hushpuppies are incredible, and the food tastes good and is reasonably priced. I would recommend this place to anyone!

we love to go for the lunch specials-cant cook them at home for what they charge. Dinner is amazing. I dont know of anywhere you can get oysters like this now -light crisp little buttery melt in your mouth morsels. Some of the best crab cakes in the Carollinas- not at all greasy but it is fried. This is the... More

We picked Bowmans just taking a chance because the prices seemed to be more reasonable. The outside is not fancy, the interior nautical, the food was awesome. The portions were huge easily being split by two. We all got the skipper were you choose which 4 items you want. The hush puppies were abundant and just kept coming. We will... More

We had fried flounder with southern-style vegetables for lunch. Very tasty and plenty of food. Dinner however, was awful. Chilled shrimp appertiser tasted liked water, chowder was more potato than clams. For as good as their other entrees are, they should take those off their menu.

Great local restaurant serving fresh fish. Nothing fancy about the decor. Servers are warm and welcoming. Prices are a little high, but not lacking in quantity. Come hungry / leave full!

Service: Great! Hush puppies: Best any of us have ever had! The Gouda Bites: Excellent. Unfortunately the fried seafood was not fresh and you can tell it is sitting in pans under a heat lamp in the back waiting to be served. The clam strips were chewy, the fried oysters were hard to swallow, the fried fish was chewy around... More

It was our 25th anniversary and we decided to stay close to home so we went to Southport, Kure Beach up to Carolina Beach to enjoy our dinner in our favorite family restaurant Bownmans at the Beach. Their hush puppies are fabulous. The service was great and attentive. We usually order the seafood platter but got the ribeye steak with... More

We were near Carolina Beach for the weekend, and decided to have seafood. On arrival, Bowman's wasn't what I was expecting or hoping for - this is an older restaurant and appeared "small" from the outside, with more of a local flair. But we decided to give it a shot, and were so glad we did. There are a lot... More

I have a very picky family so it can be a hassle trying to find a restaurant that everyone will eat at. My best friend recommended Bowman's & I'm so glad he did! The food was amazing & authentic. The atmosphere was very family friendly, unlike most of the places I came across. It costed about $50 for a family... More
