Best homemade biscuits and homemade corned beef hash

Country diner seafood and breakfast is kinda like chocolate... or like pizza... for me. When it's good it's good, and when it's bad it's still pretty darn good. But this place ain't just "good." It's great. It's fantastic. It's extraordinary. It's next level. I mean, I've been eating simple stuff like barbecued chicken, slaw, fried shrimp and hush puppies for... More

We just had a lovely dinner at Gulfstream in Carolina Beach, NC. At first impression, this is just a family diner. Be aware that they are a cash only establishment. There is an extensive menu of everything from burgers, salads, breakfast all day, seafood, Italian entrees and everyday diner specials - good kids menu too. Be sure to look for... More

Went down to CB for the NCHIA convention this year and stayed at the Courtyard. The desk clerk recommended I try this place saying it was the local "hot spot" for great food. I called in a reservation for the group and when we arrived, we ALMOST walked right back out and left. It is a small, CASH ONLY, diner-style... More

GulfStream is tucked away off the Main Street of life but some of the best breakfast food around. This is a Saturday morning hangout and all he locals eat here. That should be your first clue to a great restaurant when its where the locals all eat! Love the food and the wait staff. Awesome experience not to be missed... More

My wife and I had dinner here during our vacation at carolina beach. We stopped here on our third night, after it being recommended by the hotel manager. Wasn't very impressed at first, mainly because it seemed like a little mom and pop operation, but we completely changed our minds once the food arrived. Large portions & fresh seafood which... More

Paid $34 for a shrimp platter and a shrimp/oyster platter and the plates were 90% french fries. I got 3 oysters and about 8 shrimp. The shrimp plate consisted of 12 shrimp. The shrimp appeared like they were harvested in 2001; gummy and tasteless. The slaw was a soup with some cabbage floating in the liquid; gross. I will never... More

Been a fixture on Pleasure Island for years. I regularly am on the island every late Spring/early Summer and getting into this place is a near impossibility. Always crowded. Now I know why, having stopped here this week for breakfast. Breakfasts are breakfasts but not here. First I’ve encountered in the area that actually knows what “over medium” eggs means…no... More

Had breakfast there, the three of us had eggs, biscuits & gravy, grits, which were according to my wife were the best she has had and corned beef hash, the real thing, not out of a can. Was so good, went back for dinner. Had sea food platter, good, roast beef and veggies and shrimp creole, no one could eat... More
