Excellent food!

A local recommended Michael's as the best seafood in town. So, we decided (the seven of us) to give them a try. We arrived during the lunch hour and decided to sit on their outdoor patio by their beautiful fish pond. They have a good variety on their lunch menu. They had several fish available to... read more

I have had some dire seafood in restaurants on the Atlantic coast. When we walked into Michael's I thought from the tiki bar decor that this was also going to be dire. We were so sure it would be bad we ordered 2 entrees for 4 of us assuming we wouldnt want to eat any more. How wrong we were.... More

I don't get what's up with Eastern NC restaurants. Overall, the seafood restaurants are lackluster. Michael's has this awesome reputation it doesn't deserve. Tan colored seafood chowder with the only identifiable bits in the bowl were surimi (fake crabmeat) and one piece of potato. The shrimp and grits had real identifiable shrimp but the grits were actually yellow polenta, poured... More

I was looking for a seafood restaurant to eat at before returning home from the Wilmington / Carolina Beach area when I happened to see Michael's Seafood Restaurant. I thought I'd stop in for a bite and was very well pleased. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and given my choice of table or booth. I arrived... More

We went to eat about 5:30 pm, the restaurant had not yet gotten busy. There were a few small children with us and we were seated quickly. I ordered pasta for my grandson and shrimp and grits for myself. Others got various seafood entrees. I was horrified to see about an inch of melted butter in the bottom of the... More

This place has a broad choice of items including various locally caught fishes available 5 or 6 different ways. A few different types of brews are also offered. Colorful interior and cheerful service also add to its appeal. My chowder was ok.

Clean facility and family friendly environment . We ate there twice in our week at the beach, both times we got the admirals delight. Get the shrimp deveined and the potatoes are to die for as well.

The seafood was good here. Wait staff is really nice. The outdoor patio is relaxing for dinner even on a hot night.

Michaels is absolutely the best seafood on the island. But no fried stuff....which is fine by me. My niece and I always share the Admirals platter. Its tradition and always a show. Love it

I've had a few different things on the menu, but we normally swing in for their seafood chowder. It's my vote for best on pleasure island, and there is some fine chowder around there. You can walk in and order it by the quart as cold, hot or frozen. I love it, you should try it.
