Good fried shrimp

We had fried shrimp at Olde Salty's and it was very good - the breading was light and crunchy without taking over, but a bit too salty.

We love going to Old Salty's on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. The friendly atmosphere and good pour drinks get us started for the way seafood in NC should be fried--lightly breaded and crisp. The proprietress, Brenda, is fun and wants to make sure you are happy with what you order. We have a place in Kure Beach and go to... More

Good place to have lunch or dinner, located on the boardwalk at Carolina beach, with friendly good service. Also great location to catch Thursday night fireworks during the summer and around the corner you can catch free summer concert on Thursday nights as well.

This was a very nice restaurant with a great menu. I loved all the vegetable offerings as well as the great seafood. My husband loved the softshell crab and I loved the veggie platter. Another patron recommended the steamed shrimp.

There is fancier food and places but this is a classic. Staff is same every year and is the food. They are super friendly and just a place you have to go once just to say you've been. 22 years and going . Don't go for the food go because it's a legend.

There is better food than Old Salty's but it serves a okay bar food. You've got to love the location though. We have been there a couple times. The staff is really cool, laid back and friendly. You can just sit at the bar and have a few drinks and chat with them. Pretty down to earth.

I am not a big seafood fan but they serve other things. They have a daily blue plate special which will include fish and chicken/beef dishes or you can order from the menu. I do like their fried clam strips. My guess is it is all frozen, just as it is at most of the other seafood places on the... More

Every year we pick 3-4 restaurants that have always been good while at Carolina Beach. Old Salty's is at the very top of the list. I had the combination fried flounder and oyster plate and the wife had the old bay steamed peel and eat shrimp with sides. The fried fish is second to nobody, and my wife said the... More

We were a group of 8 and we did take out from there. It took over an hour to actually get our food. We went home and found out that 3 of the 8 dishes were missing and one of the dishes was the wrong dish. We had to go back and pick up the rest of our food and... More
