I've been meaning to write this review..My husband and I went to eat dinner at the Shuckin Shack this past August on a Sunday night around 9:00 pm. This is one of the only restaurants that serves late so we headed there. The place was very busy so we found seats at the bar. First, the waitress barely paid us... More

Read the reviews on here and the place sounded great. Very tiny. Great location. Waited 20 minutes outside for a seat which the waitress said we should get any minute because people were finishing up. Never got a seat. The locals went on inside and stood in the back and were seated ahead of us. Guess that's how it goes.

We visited Carolina Beach with family and I insisted we visit here since my husband's sister posted their check in's so many times. This is totally a local hangout where everyone knows each other and the atmosphere is like one big sports bar family. My husband and I shared the wings (mild) and shrimp - the wings were perfect with... More

We enjoyed the Shuckin Shack's seafood so much, that we ate there EVERY night of our trip! Yes, EVERY night (4 times in 4 days). The Shrimp, clams, and crab legs were out of this world fresh and perfectly steamed. The oysters, while still fresh and good, were a bit over steamed for our liking - but you can get... More

When in Carolina beach this is the place for a beer and seafood, from lobster rolls to peel and eat shrimp to buckets of steamed seafood. Reasonable prices and service. The place is quite small. Only two small tables outside. Other places around are way more expensive and not as good so I suggest you try as I have learned... More

Yes, it is tiny, but we've found some of the best places are usually small, little, mom and pop "hole-in-the-wall" type joints. Many seafood places are WAY overpriced, WAY overcooked, and WAY under-size on their portions. This was NOT the case at Shuckin Shack. We were a party of six (2 adults, 4 kids) in for dinner over Labor Day... More

We ordered crab legs, shrimp and fried fish. Everything was fine. Really don't understand what everyone is raving about. There are only a few tables, which are small and pushed against the wall. All have hard wood stools...not comfortable at all. There was a long wait to even get one of these tables. The waitress was polite but not overly... More

Don't let the small quarters and the old building fool you. This place has excellent service and fresh fish. It is obvious the locals eat here. I have a feeling that whatever comes out of the kitchen it is very good. They were even featuring rum cake for dessert the day I was there. I would recommend it to anyone... More

Can't go wrong enjoying the excellent shrimp, clams and oysters at Shuckers. It is a tiny place so I would not recommend this for large parties as seating is very hard to find and man it gets busy. My advice, do a senior citizens time frame and go early. Also good are the hushpuppies and I liked the macaroni wedges.... More
