We enjoyed the Shuckin Shack's seafood so much, that we ate there EVERY night of our trip! Yes, EVERY night (4 times in 4 days). The Shrimp, clams, and crab legs were out of this world fresh and perfectly steamed. The oysters, while still fresh and good, were a bit over steamed for our liking - but you can get... More

When in Carolina beach this is the place for a beer and seafood, from lobster rolls to peel and eat shrimp to buckets of steamed seafood. Reasonable prices and service. The place is quite small. Only two small tables outside. Other places around are way more expensive and not as good so I suggest you try as I have learned... More

Yes, it is tiny, but we've found some of the best places are usually small, little, mom and pop "hole-in-the-wall" type joints. Many seafood places are WAY overpriced, WAY overcooked, and WAY under-size on their portions. This was NOT the case at Shuckin Shack. We were a party of six (2 adults, 4 kids) in for dinner over Labor Day... More

We ordered crab legs, shrimp and fried fish. Everything was fine. Really don't understand what everyone is raving about. There are only a few tables, which are small and pushed against the wall. All have hard wood stools...not comfortable at all. There was a long wait to even get one of these tables. The waitress was polite but not overly... More

Don't let the small quarters and the old building fool you. This place has excellent service and fresh fish. It is obvious the locals eat here. I have a feeling that whatever comes out of the kitchen it is very good. They were even featuring rum cake for dessert the day I was there. I would recommend it to anyone... More

Can't go wrong enjoying the excellent shrimp, clams and oysters at Shuckers. It is a tiny place so I would not recommend this for large parties as seating is very hard to find and man it gets busy. My advice, do a senior citizens time frame and go early. Also good are the hushpuppies and I liked the macaroni wedges.... More

Went on a Wed for lunch and beer ( they had a great deal on draft beer-and a good selection). Wanted oysters on the half ,but not for $15 a doz. (wish they had a special on them instead of the clams--had some w/the beer). We also had the fish basket-2 pcs of fish and a ton of fries --very... More

We were excited to have some fresh seafood after reading the positive reviews. We brought our kids and the entrance was crowded with people drinking and smoking. One peek in the restaurant and we knew to keep walking. The atmosphere is dark and dirty. It is more like a drinking hole in the wall than a restaurant.

This place is a must visit. A little small and seating may be a challenge but it is worth it. Oysters are fairly priced and amazing. Very fresh and go down easy. The steamed shrimp were huge and out of this world good. Service was very attentive.

The food is great, I sit at the bar so the service is great. The prices are fantastic, especially during happy hour. I go here alone sometimes just to get my clam and beer fix. It seems like kind of a dive but that is only by appearance, the staff is very friendly and the place is clean just looks... More
