Stopped in for dinner and while the staff was very friendly and on top of their game, the food and drinks were not. Two of our party split a Cuban Sandwich. And while they said the sandwich was really good, they were charged $5.00 to split a meal; though they were informed of the fee prior to the order being... More

Reading the reviews and viewing the menu online, our party was very excited to try this place. Service was friendly and the staff was attentive to everything we needed. We ordered 2 apps, burnt ends and pimento cheese dip. Not too many liked the cheese, but the burnt ends were a hit. Spicy and tender but not plentiful, only five... More

Wow, we have been drivng by this place for several years. What a great surprise, fresh, good quality food right in our neighborhood. I had Shrimp & Grits which most places has the shrimp swimming in the grits but not this time. Great flavors. Excellent. Will definitely be back especially to try Sunday Brunch.

I have been eating surf house for years. Everything is good there. My go to is usually the tacos or Mahi sandwich. I love the daily lemonade in the summer, mixed berry basil is my favorite. In the winter they offer a daily hot chocolate, the Nutella is my favorite. This is a really relax place to eat, everything is... More

Clean, bright - uses fresh local ingredients - definitely a great secret that we found! Sunday brunch delighted me with caramelized banana waffles. I saw the double cheeseburger and wondered who was eating that mile high creation. My brisket sandwich was great - my friend's salad was a thumbs-up. Be sure to try this place if you don't want chain... More

During our month long stay in Kure Beach/Carolina Beach we had time to explore a lot of the local cuisine. This place was mostly in line with the others. There was nothing too special about it. I was really excited to visit Surf House based on the reviews but, sadly I was let down. This is the first restaurant I've... More

Fresh local veggies very good. Fish tacos not so much. The atmosphere is a fun local beachey place but the menu didn't have as many seafood options as I would have guessed. Staff is friendly & it is clean. Apps were the best part- shrimp grits were very good.

Once we found this small gem, it is on our agenda every visit to Carolina Beach. The Turkey Cuban is phenomenal as ever. Waitstaff is very friendly and helpful. Just wish we could have stayed for our Sunday Castro. If you are in town on a Sunday, the Castro is a MUST!

Don't let the outside stop you from going in. We had a 20 minute wait, but the hostess checked on us several times. After being sitted we ordered an appetizer. Unfortunately our food came before the appetizer and we had to ask for it. She apologized and brought it. I'm not a seafood person so the BBQ was an excellent... More

Although Carolina Beach is sprinkled with casual style pancake houses, buffet restaurants, and pubs, Surf House is a welcome exception. Expect a San Diego atmosphere with menu items likely to be found at any California beach cafe (but double the price in CA). Service was friendly and atmosphere was laid back. Food was delicious with pulled pork sandwich being a... More
