Clean, bright - uses fresh local ingredients - definitely a great secret that we found! Sunday brunch delighted me with caramelized banana waffles. I saw the double cheeseburger and wondered who was eating that mile high creation. My brisket sandwich was great - my friend's salad was a thumbs-up. Be sure to try this place if you don't want chain... More

During our month long stay in Kure Beach/Carolina Beach we had time to explore a lot of the local cuisine. This place was mostly in line with the others. There was nothing too special about it. I was really excited to visit Surf House based on the reviews but, sadly I was let down. This is the first restaurant I've... More

Fresh local veggies very good. Fish tacos not so much. The atmosphere is a fun local beachey place but the menu didn't have as many seafood options as I would have guessed. Staff is friendly & it is clean. Apps were the best part- shrimp grits were very good.

Once we found this small gem, it is on our agenda every visit to Carolina Beach. The Turkey Cuban is phenomenal as ever. Waitstaff is very friendly and helpful. Just wish we could have stayed for our Sunday Castro. If you are in town on a Sunday, the Castro is a MUST!

Don't let the outside stop you from going in. We had a 20 minute wait, but the hostess checked on us several times. After being sitted we ordered an appetizer. Unfortunately our food came before the appetizer and we had to ask for it. She apologized and brought it. I'm not a seafood person so the BBQ was an excellent... More

Although Carolina Beach is sprinkled with casual style pancake houses, buffet restaurants, and pubs, Surf House is a welcome exception. Expect a San Diego atmosphere with menu items likely to be found at any California beach cafe (but double the price in CA). Service was friendly and atmosphere was laid back. Food was delicious with pulled pork sandwich being a... More

If you like farm-to-table, fresh, thoughtfully prepared food and drinks, this is the place for you. Sort of a gem in Carolina Beach. I like your typical beach seafood joint as much as the next person, but this was really something different and special. I had a vegetarian entree that was amazing, and my boyfriend had a delicious bbq sandwich.... More

Casual atmosphere with food that rivals fancier seafood establishments. My fish and vegetables were cooked perfectly. My companion had the pulled pork and it was delicious, too.

We have been coming to Carolina Beach for many years and were interested in whether there were new restaurants. We learned about the Surf House via Trip Advisor. Don't let the name or location keep you away...it is a refreshing atmosphere and concept for Carolina Beach. We were not very hungry so had the tomato and cucumber salads and homemade... More

Very fresh, sustainable fish approach. Innovative, great dishes. Great dessert. I couldn't stop ordering food and even though I was full, I just kept eating. So many different flavors made for a very satisfying meal. There are 1/2 price apps with entree on Thursday, so we had to order all of them. The best is the brisket, pimento cheese dip,... More
