what a disappointment. Don't get their greasy gravy. Also ask for the grits in a bowl instead of running in your food on your plate. Staff was not real friendly. It took a long time to get your food with no more people in there as it only sits maybe eight tables. Can't understand why they advertise as one of... More

Food was very good and staff very friendly. Inexpensive. Took a while to get our orders but they were very busy. Will make this a family beach vacation tradition.

This is a tiny place which doesn't bother me but, it needs a good cleaning. There were flies everywhere the morning we visited. Staff was hanging around talking while customers were waiting for food. Took quite a while for ours to come out. It was decent but not fantastic. The flies and bathroom grossed me out so I won't be... More

Stopped in for a good breakfast. Eggs were overcooked and flavorless. Hash browns needed to be crispier. Had to try the fried green tomatoes and that's what saved my experience from a two star. Nice and crispy, but seasoning was a little overpowering. Surprising since the rest of my food needed more seasoning. I liked the grilled English muffins and... More

The only good point were the omelettes. Bacon, mushroom and pepper Jack was awesome. Gravy tasted from a mix. Biscuits seemed old. It was hot in there (at 9:30 am) and flies were everywhere. The waitress was very nice but we wouldn't go back.

Went on a Sunday, was very busy but the hostess Vicki greeted us right away. Took our name and offered us beverages as we might have a bit of a wait. She was moving fast trying to get tables bussed, names taken and I even saw her door ring drink orders. She was so pleasant while we waited. She made... More

Asked a few locals for a good, home-cooked spot; all pointed to Granny's. Appeared shabby both outside and inside. Tables were smudged and flies were all over the place. Our server barely greeted us and just pointed to the tables for us to sit down. I was ready to bolt out of there, but kids were hungry and tired. When... More

The 45 - 50 minute wait (after ordering) was NOT worth the quality of the food. AND after the wait, we had to wait longer because they got my sons order wrong. I got the shrimp & grits & grits were too bland.

Granny's Kitchen is our go-to place for a hearty breakfast when in Carolina Beach. The portions are big and the food is terrific. Like your country grandma would make. A must to try while visiting C.B.
