Our favorite place to eat in Calabash!

Great seafood with a lovely view. My husband and I have visited here for over 10 years and we love it. We usually split a combination platter of flounder, scallops, popcorn shrimp, oysters and deviled crab. It's so peaceful to walk out on the dock after a meal and watch the boats come in. You won't... read more

If you like seafood drenched in grease and cornmeal, this is your spot. Granted, they give you enough food to feed you for a week, but it made both of us sick, even though we only ate about a quarter of it. Not what we expected.

We expected great food for how packed it is, that was not the case. The only thing this place really does is sub-par fried seafood. Everything was tasteless, the fried part wasn't crispy, and the service was slow. I ordered a platter of half fried half steamed shrimp--the portion was ENORMOUS, but again, the quantity couldn't make up for the... More

Long wait, over an hour, but well worth waiting for. If you are taking small children, consider allowing them to share and save yourself some money. The portion sizes are huge! Service was a little slow, but it was very busy. All in all a great meal!

My 10- and 7- year old boys just love Aunt Mary. We visit Dockside a handful of times each year, and they know Aunt Mary works the front register on Friday & Saturday nights. If they sing her something or just act sweet, she rewards them with an Andes mint or some gum. Personal customer service like that will make... More

Went twice this trip. Very busy. Good food. Good service both times for the level of activity. There in June.

Went to have a simple dinner with my boyfriend. Was seated after a 10 minute wait and was approached by a server 10 minutes later. I ordered the steak and shrimp, cooked medium. My boyfriend order the scallop dinner. Before the meal we received hush puppies and I got a salad. Puppies were good, my salad was practically just lettuce.... More

Get there early, there is always a wait. Portions are huge, I would suggest sharing. Everyone in our party took home leftovers. Fried shrimp is lightly breaded and very good. Clam strips are also worth a try.

I always drive to Calabash, NC, for the freshest seafood when staying in Myrtle Beach. Great value, quality, and the freshest seafood you can get. No need to spend $25-$30 in Myrtle Beach for those buffets. You get plenty of food at Dockside for a lot less money. All three of us took to go boxes back with us! Excellent!

The shrimp was incredible this year. The flounder was also very good. You order off of a menu so it is a lot cheaper than the all you can eat buffets that are around. They have also added an outside eating area. Be sure and get there early to avoid a long wait!
