Back again for the shrimp

Although the menu has changed we still enjoy our visits to Dockside Restaurant on the waterfront in Calabash, NC. Now there is no longer an option for a cup of clam chowder to start your meal. If you want this you need to order a bowl. I would suggest asking for two spoons and sharing one bowl. We... read more

The green bean vegetables were soggy beans from a can that were boiled to death. The fried scallops & oysters were very greasy & overly salty & the oysters were not fresh. The shrimp could not have been anything but canned shrimp - not fresh.

Fast service. Heavy breading on everything, Sampler Platter. Waitress gave me Key Lime pie for my birthday (I did not ask for it) than charged me $4.00, ugh. She said simple T-shirts were $8, it was $12, ugh. Our total bill was $74 for 2 people, we drank water. Very expensive for a no atmosphere, uncomfortable tables, and long drive.

Took a few days at the beach and made our trip to Calabash for seafood. Stopped at Dockside since it was always full in the summer. Something changed with the hushpuppys and I agree with the other review they tasted like grease. Thought it was just me, but went back a second night with friends and they tasted the same.... More

Had my first visit to Dockside in July 2014 and I'm hooked. Easily the best seafood I've had. Heaping portions means you won't leave hungry. Good quality of non-seafood menu items too for the people in your party who don't eat seafood. And being right on the intercostal waterway makes for a nice setting for the restaurant. Well recommended.

We have been eating here for years and it's always been very good. But tonight the hush puppies tasted funny with an old oil taste, the French fries were cold and it was the worst meal I've had in awhile. We'll go back and give them another chance

Our meal was very good. I had the ribeye, which was huge, properly cooked and tender. Server was great. BF had fried seafood, huge portion. We enjoyed it. Would prefer more seasoning on the steak, but still a good value.

Nothing was bad. Just very average food. Many selection were fried. Too much competition in the area. Need to step up their game. They do have loyal customers, but we have found many other restaurants that are better.

Last week during our annual Thanksgiving trip to Myrtle Beach, SC, we drove up to Calabash, NC for dinner. We chose Dockside Seafood House based on a previously good dinner my wife and daughter had there earlier in the year. This time it wasn't so good. I ordered the combination platter. The fish was dry and wrinkled like it had... More

This is the way Calabash seafood is supposed to be! Service was great, food was cooked to perfection. It was crowded but we were in and served quickly!
