Was there on a Wednesday night and they were clearly overstaffed. Took forever to get seated and waited on. Food was greasy - especially onion rings - they were greasy little straws rather than onion rings. Fish was overcooked. On the bright side - hushpuppies were delicious and staff were very nice. If you are going there, find out which... More

You'll find the freshest seafood - just caught that morning - on the lunch/dinner menu. Your meal starts with the most delicious, homemade hushpuppies served with honey butter. If you're not careful you can easily fill up on these alone. They have different combinations to choose from for lunch all for around $6. I don't know how you can beat... More

Ella's used to a staple every time we visited the Myrtle Beach area. But a couple of bad experiences about five years ago forced us to look elsewhere for good seafood at a reasonable price. In that time, we never found one, so we decided to give Ella's another chance. We're glad we did. The issues that put us off... More

An unexpected, pleasant surprise. Good service, good food, good value. We would definitely recommend, and will likely return

We love Ella's. We live 3 hours away but we go as often as we can. The food is always consistently delicious. The crab legs and the scallops..... Yes, it's worth the trip!

The food was superb, service was quick and super friendly!!! It is not a fancy restaurant but this is a place that you don't want to miss! Casual atmosphere. Our waitress was very, very good. The food was excellent. I had a senior citizens entree and there was a lot of food on the plate, more than enough for a... More

Having grown up in coastal NC, I can confidently say that Ella's is most definitely one of the last of the authentic seafood restaurants, period. Yes it may seem dated, but it represents the well established seafood cuisine that Calabash and the whole southern coastal region is known for. I ate there with my family at lunch on a weekday... We ate there on our vacation and it was worth the drive from Myrtle Beach. Although we didn't get to stay long in Calabash, NC it seemed quiet which was a relief from the Myrtle Beach area. The food at Ella's is a great bargain. The quantities are average to more-than-average and the quality is good/great. I'd recommend it to... More

My family ate there twice during our week-long stay in the area. The restaurant is a family-owned operation and has that charm to it. The staff is as nice as possible and the food is very good. All of my family enjoyed their food...anything from shrimp, crab, flounder, clam strips, hamburger steak, hand-dipped chicken breast strips, etc. We will definitely... More
