I will have to start this review by saying that the day before I had the best low country seafood meal that I have had in a long time. I have to Calabash and enjoyed the area seafood for a long time. This place had a very nice on the water atmosphere but the food was just not up to... More

My husband I have a place at North Myrtle Beach and are at the beach one to two weeks a month. We decided to try a different seafood restaurant, for a change. I had seen someone recommend Captain Nance's, so we thought we would give it a try. Very disappointed. Service not good! We waited for 10 minutes before someone... More

Had lunch there, staff nice but food was not good - both shrimp and fish were tasteless and of poor quality. Not much of a view - couple of fishing boats out back. I will not return to this restaurant

My wife and I were at Captain Nance restaurant on Friday, 4-14. We have just gone thru the first door and Shelvy Hill turned and gave us a very friendly smile, when we got inside she was still smiling. Shelvy seemed like a very sweet lady and a person who like to be around. Our meal was very good.......but being... More

Great staff. Great food. Huge servings! What more can I say? We will be regulars, and will stop by anytime I am within a 50-75 mile distance...well worth the drive. Best seafood I have had in a long time.

One of quite a few seafood places in Calabash, Capt. Nance's proved to be a good choice. It is not fancy, but it is right on the water, so the view was good, and the seafood tasted fresh, and was served quickly. The restaurant is one big room, so nothing fancy, but the prices were good, and the food tasty.... More

We came from myrtle beach to have a good lunch with our kids. We've been in calabash before but other restaurants. The fish is better fried than broiled. I did not understand why paying extra for broiled vs. Fried, and wasn't better. I wish to see steamed veggies in their menu, because the only choices were French fries, hush puppies... More

Arrived mid-afternoon, few people in restaurant. Seated immediately, order taken quickly, I had senior order of fried oysters, friend had special combination of fish and shrimp. Plenty of food, delicately fried. Food could have used more salt/pepper, but easily added. Friend had enough to take home. Pleasant waterway view. Came out for $22 plus tip. Would visit again.

We usually go here before 4:00 and get their lunch special, but if you're really hungry, go for the platters. The food is fresh, light, and so tasty. The restaurant sits right next to the water. We absolutely love the shrimp, crab cakes, and the hushpuppies with honey butter. The lunch special comes with coleslaw and your choice of fries... More
