Typical Calibash

Typical Calabash style seafood which is not any thing to write home about. They will broil. Got Sea Bass which was pretty good broiled. Wife asked if shrimp was fresh local as it is shrimp season. We were told it was. When it arrived we knew it was fresh from the local freezer and farm raised... read more

Every year we go to Holden Beach and we always go at least once if not more to Captain Nance's in Calabash for lunch. Simply the best fried shrimp and stuffed crab around,

After a week in Myrtle Beach, it was still by far the best (and most reasonably priced) seafood that we've had. Don't be fooled, there's nothing overly complicated about what these Calabash restaurants do, there's no "secret recipe" batter, it's all about keeping it simple and letting the fresh seafood be the focal point of the meal. We ate at... More

Staff is friendly and provided great service. Nothing special about the food. I feel I could have eaten better seafood from my hometown, not on the coast.

The hush puppies served with honey butter at the start of the meal is s great way to start. This was our second visit of the week and both times were delicious. Both times I got the small fried shrimp platter and couldn't finish it all either time. So now we have left overs, nothing to complain about. My husband... More

We have eaten here in the past and enjoyed it, but we will not eat here again. We visited on a busy night and the wait wasn't too bad, but once we were seated the service was very slow and the waitress seemed pretty impatient for us to order. We all ordered baked potatoes as our side dish, and once... More

We make a yearly trip to Myrtle Beach and always make a special trip to Calabash to visit Captain Nance's for lunch at least once during our stay. They always bring a basket of warm hushpuppies to your table before the food arrives, and they are to die for! We always order the special Flounder and Shrimp lunch which includes... More

We took the family out to Captain Nance's,I requested a table up front so everybody could see out of picture windows. The host took my name and said come back in about 10 minutes,we did table was ready.Food is very consistent & very affordable,we had lunch specials, remember friends don't let friends eat imported shrimp. It is one of our regular lunch stops.

My Mother use to live near Calabash, which is how I learned about it. Now we take a trip every few years to enjoy the beach and the seafood. Since our last visit we have taken at least 15 cruises, so I had forgotten how good fresh Calabash style seafood can be. The shrimp were good, but the oysters and... More
