Breakfast/brunch

In Buxton, things seem to move on "island time", like they do in the Bahamas or somewhere. We went in for breakfast, and it took them a bit to seat us, but they were busy! I didn't mind the wait. It was worth it for the seafood omelet with fresh crab and shrimp. Wow! My wife thought her scrambled... read more

Service. Just WOW. The staff at Diamond Shoals provide the most engaging, thorough, respectful service I've ever received in a restaurant. I honestly wanted to just stay. Gift shop clerk chatted up my 4 & 6 year old nephews and kept them entertained with "freebie" toys: she actually got down on the floor and played with them when the four... More

We have been going to Diamond Shoals every time we stay on Hatteras Island. This is one of our favorites, the King Crab Legs are great, and they have plenty of other choices to please everyone in our group of 10 or more, including ages 2 and up. The dress is casual, there are all ages and sizes of groups... More

My husband and I had just come from a LONG day on Ocracoke Island and stopped in for dinner and the Shrimp and Linguine was great! The blackened Mahi Mahi was great! Our waitress (sorry did not get the name) was so nice and accommodating (as it was imperative that I have my chowder to take back to Southern Shores... More

The food here was decent but a little over priced. It was walkable from the hotel we were staying at which made it convenient.

Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. My husband and I got the NC craft beer sampler which was great! The sushi was amazing and the fried grouper balls were delicious. We really enjoyed dinner here. Would definitely go back for the fresh seafood!

It's wonderful to hear that you dinner left you swimming in delight, Stephanie. To us, there's nothing better than a fresh piece of seafood and a cold beer, so it's great to hear that you enjoyed both while dining at our place! Until next time, Keith Gray, Owner More

We usually go to the seafood market attached and bring home some fantastic local catch. Fresh and wonderful for your own clambake. Event hough they were frozen, the mussels were excellent. Staff is always available for cooking advice.

I'm happy to hear that you can always count on our market for an excellent selection of seafood, Helen. Whether you're dining at our place or taking a catch home, we always want our customers to have an excellent meal. So, I'm glad that our cooking recommendations have always been on point! Stayed at Cape Hatteras, we were hoping something was open for breakfast, Nov is sometimes iffy! Good food, great price, would definitely go back and plan to in August. Home fries to die for, grits which my wife loved!

Always happy to make your OBX Novembers less iffy, especially with a great breakfast. Of course, we're just as happy to do the same at any other time of year, so here's to seeing you in August — for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Thanks for the kind words and awesome review, - Keith Gray, Owner More

I was vacationing with my family on July 20th 2015 and had the worst experience. Tried to get the chief to make me a chicken breast with a side of pasta and it was a no go. Ordered a hamburger and waited a hour. He was mad I guess. Found a dead fly on the table. I don't recommend this... More

Sorry to hear about this, Mike. We're always happy to oblige our guests with any meal request they have, although sometimes, when the meal isn't specifically on the menu, those requests are a bit more difficult to fulfill. In any case, that doesn't excuse the slow service. I can assure you our chef wasn't mad, but I'll look into the... More
