Good Food

Breakfast is great, the Hotcakes are larger than the plate! Corned beef hash is really tasty too. Lunch you must try their Clam chowder, or fried oysters (in season). They have a Fish house is attached and can steam or blacken seafood to go!

A lucky chance took us to Diamond Shoals on a very cold night this February. We both ordered the seafood platter, and were impressed with the food overall. Good hush puppies (light, hot, without onion or anything sweet). Scallops, oysters & shrimp excellent - grouper superb. Crab cake OK. Clam strips not my thing, but my partner, from New England,... Our service was not that great at all. The food was just ok. We were very disappointed in this place.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Anne! We really don't get this sort of feedback all too often, so I think you may have visited us on an off day. I'd love to have another chance at putting our best foot forward with you, so I hope you get the chance to visit us again. Take care, - Keith Gray,... More

Great food, everything was very fresh and made when ordered. The service was better the first night we ate here. They are about the only sit down restaurant open during our Feburary visit.

Diamond shoals is small little seafood restaurant that is located pretty far down the outer banks. They have an awesome variety of seafood. The only problem is they close early. If you want to eat there make sure you get there before 830. I go there every time I stay in frisco.

I'm so flattered that you enjoy our variety of seafood! I appreciate your feedback regarding our hours, and I think this is something worth looking into. Since you did enjoy the seafood, I hope to see you again the next time you find yourself in the area! Until next time, Keith Gray, Owner More

The Diamond Shoals Seafood Shop, in the same building as the restaurant, saved us when we were there in October; we got our fresh clams, our frozen clam meat, our blue crabs, and our shrimp for cooking at "home." Most of the other seafood shops had closed for the season, but Diamond Shoals stays open. Breakfast at the restaurant offers... More

This place is always packed breakfast and dinner. So we thought we would sneak in and see if we could at least sit at the bar. We snagged the last two seats. What a great place this was. We chatted with the Suchi Chefs and bartender and even thought they were very busy they took the time to make us... More

Was in this area during the winter and not much around was open. Tried this out one night. They had a nice salad bar which I needed (veggies). I ordered blackened mahi mahi (fresh) with 2 veggies. Lots of food, and it was good. Would eat there again!

It's expensive, but it seems everywhere is on OBX. The soup and chowder are incredible - that's what we go for. And hush puppies - this is an exciting treat for Canadians!

We're here whenver you need more chowder and hush puppies, Coco. Thanks for stopping in. Stay warm, Keith Gray, Owner More

We had dinner here one night and it was good but it wasn't great. Service was very good and food was served quickly considering how busy they were. I would stop there again.
