Great sushi, decent breakfast

Ate here once for breakfast, which was just ok. Ate here with a large party if 16 and everyone loved it. Sushi was fantastic as well as fresh fish. It is better and bigger than I thought from outside.

We had Dinner at Diamond Shoals. I had Fried Fish and Shrimp, the Shrimp was very good. Some folks in our Group had Sushi and reported that it was very good as well. We had a Big group and it was busy, but the Service was good.

We went for breakfast the first time after a recommendation from our hotel owners. The food was good but for some reason the food took almost 45 min to get to the table and it wasn't that busy. We went back for dinner that day because they had sushi. Sat at the same table, and the waitress was great, the... More

My family go to the OBX every year and it wouldn't be complete without stopping here. This time We had breakfast which was a tad disappointing service wise but food was still good. Then we had there sushi later on in the week and this made up for it. It was so delicious. They have the usual favorites on the... More

We go to Diamind Shoals nearly once a week. Great breakfast menu for the weekend, mama's style fried chicken for lunch and sushi at night. Full bar for the adults and very family friendly. This is a Cape Hatteras Classic and we love going here!

Here's a nice restaurant with fresh seafood at reasonable prices. The kids meal portions are so big your doggy bag will feed your canine family member too. Try the grouper bites, shrimp, and scallops. You cannot go wrong.

Adult, child, or canine -- it's great to hear that your meal with us left everyone smiling! I'm glad that you were impressed with your portion sizes and that the grouper, shrimp, and scallops really hit the spot for you. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay on Hatteras and would love to see you back if you're... More

So, we've been eating at Diamond Shoals every time we've been on the OBX in the past 8 years. We've always liked going there, & typically eat there every night while on vacation. Our latest experience was disappointing at best. One issue was the service which was very slow although they weren't busy. I ordered scallops which were $5 more... More

After eight years of great meals, it's tough to hear that we dropped the ball on service during your most recent experience. Slow service is not what we're known for, and I’m sorry that we had an off night. I also apologize that the price change of the scallop dish wasn't more clearly communicated. We do our best to keep... More

Came here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, coffee was great, and the staff was very friendly. We have been here 3 times for breakfast so far and we anticpate having dinner here before we leave.

It must be true what they say -- the third time is the charm! I'm glad that each of your breakfasts has been a pleasant surprise, Kim. Enjoy the rest of your trip, and I'd love to see you back for dinner before you head off of the island. All the best, Keith Gray, Owner More

We have eaten here a few times after spending the day at lighthouse beach (mostly because we were starving and didn't have to wait). Overall I would rate this place a notch above diner food. The food and service are pretty good. No real complaints as the food is solid, good service, and usually don’t have to wait for a... More

In our eyes, a seafood dinner is the best way to conclude a fun day at the beach, and it's great to see that you agree, Steve. I'm glad that we could finish your day the right way with a solid dinner experience and would love to see you back next time you're in the OBX. All the best, Keith... More

Ordered seafood platters to go. Was kind of pricey but we pretty much expect that in the outer banks during the in season. It was well worth it though because it was a lot of food. We couldn't finish our dinners and ended up having the leftovers for lunch the next day.

I hope you got to enjoy your Seafood Platters on the beach! (That's the best way to do it when you're not hanging out at our place.) It's great to hear that you were pleasantly surprised with your portion sizes, and I'd love to have you back for another seafood spree next time you're in the OBX. Until then, Keith... More
