The line was out the door at the famous diamond shoals grill, so we went around the curve to the shipwreck grill. What a pleasant surprise! A fresh paint job inside done in the vibrant color style of the island. A friendly, laid back yet spot on competent wait staff. What more could you want? How about great food? We... More

I have been to the Shipwreck Grill many times over the years. It is a nice place for breakfast or lunch. My last stay my GF and I had breakfast there. Everything was prepared as ordered and came out in a short amount of time. The waitresses are friendly and keep your drink filled. This is not a fancy place... More

When questioning the contents of the food due to severe allergies, I was met with an unfriendly and uncaring counter clerk. I was nice about it but he was just uninterested period.

My boyfriend and I went to Hatteras this past weekend and had breakfast here Saturday and Sunday. We both had the biscuits/gravy and coffee which were delicious. Our waitress was Amber S. and provided excellent guest services. She is a great asset to the restaurant.

This place just across from where we are staying so really convenient for lunch(they don't open for dinner) and we will be going for breakfast on our last day. The fries with cheese and bacon are fave starter. Crab sliders to die for. Good draught beer and cocktails. All served by young surfer-dude types. Kitchen is small so if busy... More

We usually stay right across the street from here and go to breakfast here often. The french toast with blueberry spread is the way to go.

I loved all the photos of the shipwrecks inside and my favorite part was the coffee cups. White large (but not too large) coffee cups, perfect start to my day.

Thought it was just that we were tired, but: It took 20 minutes before I asked for menus, another ten to get the waitress to take our order (and drinks), reasonable time to get blah food, then had to wait while she prepared the wrong check for the table. I had to find her to get it straight. Poor service,... More
