We stopped in the "shoulder" season 2 weeks after labor day We stopped for a beer and some oysters We were greeted at back door(parking area) by a bunch of locals smoking and drinking beer by door; they told us this door was for "locals" and not visitors, we entered anyways, we waited for 20 min for a beer (sitting... Stopped in with a group of 11, we filled the last of the tables and the bar was already full. The waitress was very pleasant and never seemed flustered by taking care of a packed house by herself. The food kept rolling out of the kitchen at a constant rate so it was not too long of a wait. Everything... More

If you are looking for a place to take or meet friends for a few brews and great seafood you cannot go wrong here. We visit as often as we can when on Hatteras and now that the smoking has moved outside we enjoy it even more. The place is small, unpretentious and casual. Expect to meet a few interesting... More

We visited based on good reviews. This is a cool little hole in the wall spot that seemed to be popular with the locals and bikers. Beer in cans, cups and utensils were plastic. We started with half dozen raw oysters, which were local ( about 3 hours away). They were awesome! My husband and I shared a sampler dinner... More

This is a fun place to have a quick and delicious seafood meal. Everyone in our party of 6 found something on the menu to please them (including broiled seafood.) The service was fast and friendly, the drinks were cold, and the hushpuppies delicious. This place is very much a bar though, with a few hightop tables along the periphery... More

Decent food, mostly friend; a whole lot nicer place to be in since smoking in restaurants was banned! Roadhouse atmosphere; lots of motorcycles on summer weekends. Usually open year-round.

Stopped here for lunch. What a nice little local bar joint. Food was good, reasonable priced and friendly service. Sandwiches, seafood, frys, and other typical bar food. Not just raw oysters. Don't let the name fool ya. Great joint would go back

We had a fun and relaxing dinner at Pop's on our recent OBX trip. I was a little leery when I had heard that one bartender/waitress takes care of an entire bar and restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and friendly. Food was fresh (the oysters and shrimp were my favorites!) and beer was cold. Try it--we... More

Pops is one of the best kept secrets. Food was great and by far one of the better places we ate. The staff was super friendly and made us feel like one of the locals. Scallops and clam strips were delicious. A must go to if you are in the area.

When you go to Hatteras Island you should not be looking for fine dining. Go to Pops for succulent seafood prepared exactly right. Their pick three is a wonderful choice. There can be a fly problem and it is very small venue. But relax, go with the flow and enjoy fresh seafood. This is a local's favorite
