Late Lunch on Hatteras Island: A Great Experience!

Starting the long trip home from the Ocracoke ferry site and the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, we received a tip for late lunch at Pop's. Four of us walked into a small bar/restaurant with every table taken. Friendly patrons moved aside to let us find seats together at the friendly bar and... read more

Stopped by today for lunch with our kids. Son had crab legs that were amazingly good. The other one had tasty popcorn chickens (I tried one). I had 1/2 dozen raw oysters and they were melting in my mouth. Very fresh! I should've ordered a dozen. The claim chowder was excellent. Hubby had crab cake that he liked! Fries were... More

This place was recommended to us and we enjoyed it. The food was great as we tried blackened Spanish mackerel for the first time and liked it.The flounder was tasty too. There are two restraunts on each side of the street, I am told one is more for families and the other is more of a bar atmosphere. We ate at... More

Glad we stopped in because the food was fresh and delicious! We had fried oysters (they were huge), fried shrimp (no batter, just fried in oil), and a burger. We also ate crabcake bites and spicy steamed shrimp. Everything was delicious! If we lived here, we would eat here regularly. Even though it is a bar, it was fine for... More

Many people might think you only go there to drink beer, but the food they serve is excellent.Seating is limited and your table mate may be a biker or a politician. The atmosphere is friendly and the servers are very cordial. If you dont want to dress up,then this is a good place to get good food

Lovely bartender, Kelly, I think is her name, great service, smiling and told us her personal surf spots. She is a gem!! Same size as me so I was stoked to know about them. Cheap cold drinks and INCREDIBLE seafood. We had the special wasabi fish bits....omg!! Love it as a bar as well a lot of cool locals!

I gave Pops 5 stars on this review, something I rarely do. The atmosphere is great, we were greeted by a bunch of locals as soon as we walked in the door, so we slide over from our bar stools to socialize. We ordered our beverages and ask about the local shrimp and on of the guys pops off his... More

We had a great experience the first time we went back two days later! Charming atmosphere, good fresh seafood at affordable prices. Recommend the bloody Mary's if you like them with an extra kick!

Fabulous meal. Great pricing. And the waitress was wonderful...wish I would have remembered her name. But she was doing everything except cooking. She took our order, made our drink, served us, and was bussing tables and working the bar. She never got agitated or missed a beat. I was impressed!

Other reviews are right on. An amazing waitress. Even took some time to give us tourist suggestions. Good raw oysters and clams. Sauce was fresh made with a nice kick of horseradish. Saw lots of steamed shrimp at other tables. Maybe because it's 2/3 the price of other places.
