Looking for something different and exotic as far as seafood? Look elsewhere. The Captains table offers fried oysters and seafood just like any tourist trap. On this night, I tried to order broiled seafood from their "choose 2 for $18" menu. The choices were from 10 items. I took the shrimp and oysters, unfortunately the server said that she didn't... Found this little gem on the way back to Rodanthe from a day out of exploring. Basically we stopped here because I figured with cars in the parking lot, it was a good sign of something decent. They have children's specials which was great - PB&J, baked apples and fries. Great deal for under $5. We adults had the red... More

It's hard to go wrong here if you want fresh local sea food. We have dined here for many years, the food and service have always been good. On this visit the restaurant was closing the next day so the menu choices were limited.

The sweet tea and hushpuppies were a great start. Delicious! I chose fried shrimp and scallops. I was happy with the options for sides. Yummy coleslaw and wonderful baked potato. The seafood was fried, but not overly greasy. Great flavor. The chicken tenders for my daughter were huge and had good flavor. I also liked that she received stewed apples... More

Calabash style seafood was good, but wait staff rushed us to finish. Awesome hush puppies, but they only give you two and charge for orders of 6 or 12 more. Who wants that many? I get it that fresh seafood may have some shells or grit, but their disclosure seemed to give them the ok to be sloppy when cleaning... More

This place came highly rated. Wish I had done lunch there before I spent so much for dinner. That is my biggest complaint, OK food for way to much money. Had fried seafood platter 23.99 and mixed grill special 21.99, sweet tea and chocolate cake. Total around 62 plus a 12.00 tip. Our waitress was excellent!! Brought most of the food... More

We came here for dinner, expecting it to be so good after hearing many other people's experiences. However, i was very disappointed. All of my scallops were sandy and my shrimp were rubbery. Tasted over cooked. Like it was seafood from another night, definitely not fresh. I ordered the seafood pasta.

We went for lunch and we all had something different. The sea scallops were very good! I was concerned because it said fried on the menu but when they came they were very lightly coated and cooked in butter. The were cooked perfectly and had an amazing flavor. We also had the catch of the day (also very good) and... More

We visited the Captains Table for dinner and the service was great and the prices are reasonable although the quality of the food was not as good as it had been in the past.

The seafood pasta was the worst thing I ever ate. It was basically clams, overlooked shrimp in clam juice, and a very horriable tasting spice. Nothing like described on the menu. When I told the waiter he basically ignored me after that. Horrible! When you spend $60 for meal you expect it to be good.
