When we vacation on the Outer Banks we always go to the Captains Table for dinner a couple of times that week. Several years it was named The Tides. The original owner sold and it became The Captains Table. We ate there at every trip and when it changed to the new business we could hardly tell any difference. The... More

Great dinner - my first hush puppy experience. Huge scallops and great with apple and green beans. " Nanner" pudding - banana - a new experience for me and yummy. Bill inc wine $40.

Four of us had lunch at the Captains Table yesterday for the first time. We were seated promptly and all of the waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating. I had a Chicken Caesar Salad, which was huge with a generous portion of chicken on top. Others had the clam chowder (which they said was delicious,) a buffalo chicken wrap, a... More

A frequent dine-out experience during our fewquent visit to Cape Hatteras. Very good local chowder and hushpuppies; decent portions, reasonable service, good food and very good value overall. They're always busy - that says something right there!

Our entire family was looking for a restaurant when we visited the Outer Banks in August 2014. It's hard to please 8 people, including a 4 year old and a 7 year old. But this place fulfilled all our needs! The menu had a lot of different things to choose from, from sea food to bbq ribs and everyone was... More

The food wasn't that good honestly there are better places to go the food was burnt and the chicken tenders were gross if you are considering going I would say don't. It's seriously not good. There is a possibility you may get a stomach ache from the food

Excellent, friendly, attentive wait staff. A bit dated decor, but it is kind of nostalgic and clean....great air conditioning on a hot humid evening....good variety on the menu and the prices are quite reasonable...quick, free refills on the iced tea...a good value for your money, and the food is quite good...I had broiled flounder ( be specific that you want... It takes a lot for me to send something back, but I didn't even hesitate on the plate I received. The broiled crab cake tasted like Old Bay overload. The scallops were overcooked, and the clams were not washed well - I went through a whole glass of tea to wash the sand out of my mouth. The service was... More

We really enjoyed The Captain's Table while visiting North Carolina's Outer Banks. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we dined there on 2 occasions... First for lunch & then again for dinner, a few nights later!! As our review title indicates, we found the lunch experience to be superior in every respect... less busy, better & more friendly service,... More
