Reminded Me of Cape Cod Fish Place from 1960's

Like other reviews say, absolutely the most fabulous hush puppies! Very good clam chowder. Shared a fried flounder, very good batter, thin and not greasy. Wish we had room for deserts. Reasonable prices. Take a try at this classic place.

We stopped for lunch in this small spot on the water. Very friendly welcome. We first sat inside until we noticed outside. And we were helped to move. Delicious food. Across one creek a boatyard and the other bank held hurricane damaged boats. And in front a beautiful flowering bush. I seldom give simple places 5 stars but loved the... More

Our waitress, Lisa, instantly made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Her service was superior in every way. The food was absolutely AWESOME! Highly recommended! Can't wait to go there again.

Visited the Fish House which Pop has recently taken over and which is directly opposite the bar he owns. It was convenient as it was only 100 yards from where we were staying. We had a very average meal - not bad but not good. We started with grilled tuna bites ordered as rare to medium but came in a... More

WOW!!! I had one of the best meals at Pop's Fish House Restaurant yesterday in Buxton, NC!! I ordered Fried Shrimp basket. The batter on the shrimp - very tasty!! The cole slaw was slamming!! When I finished eating, I was sad, the food was SO good, I wish my plate was never ending! The wait staff and the owner... More

Apparently, the Fish House is now under the ownership of one of my favorite stops in the Outer Banks, Pop's, and the food and service is fantastic. It is more of a restaurant atmosphere right on the water and the food was great.

Four of us went for dinner , a little weary when the place was empty but the service was fabulous and the food very very good. I had steamed shrimp and cucumber salad and it was just like we used to fix when we were renting a cottage as a young girl growing up. Everyone was happy with their meals... More

Have been coming to the Fish House for years and it is still our favorite restaurant on Hatteras Island. Most of the menu items are classic Outer Banks style seafood and they do it as well as anyone. It's a no frills kind of place (it really was a fish house years ago, hence the slanting floor), but the quality... More

My review seems to be in strong contrast to others, but here is my impression. Arrived at 6 PM on a Friday night (3 couples) and 1 other car in the lot. Red Flag! Around the restaurant was dilapidated fishing gear, boats and scummy water. Red Flag! We asked the couple leaving how the food was and with a coy... More

Great find, on the water, near the Ferry Station to Ocracoke. Super seafood, generous portions. Service was also good. We had the Flounder and Shrimp Po Boys, and they were delicious! Beer and wine is served, as well. Enjoyed our ding experience.
