Not a whole lot to say but great BBQ ! I got a plate to go and the side were great the service was fast and nice smoke flavor like BBQ should have . The only thing I wasn't quite sure of was that the person at the register didn't have a happy look other than that great food and... More

I ordered a half-rack of baby back ribs. Apparently the people who run this restaurant are not aware that barbecue ribs are supposed to be smoked. The nearest these ribs ever came to smoke was the cigarette in the cook's mouth. Disappointing. They really shouldn't have them on the menu. Reading the other reviews, apparently this restaurant is famous for... More

We visit Hursey's Barbecue each time we visit NC (at least once a year). I particularly like the fried chicken, although the pulled pork is also very good. Don't expect a fancy decor. Expect good food reasonably priced--and plenty of it.

I've been eating this BBQ for years and it is always awesome. The BBQ is chopped and is plain by itself but their bbq sauce jazzes it up and makes it very delicious. We always get BBQ for takeout and they have a variety of meal options and family meals that you can get to go that include bbq, slaw,... More

We have purchased barbecue at Hursey's many times over the years. It is good, but not the best we have ever had. It tends to be a bit greasy but it does have a good taste. We usually buy it in bulk and make sandwiches at home. One of these days we need to have a meal in their dining... More

Love eating here. The BBQ is really good but the fried chicken is my favorite. Love the chicken! Crispy skin and tender juicy meat .... YUM!

Hursey's is so great. The BBQ shredded pork is DELICIOUS and the hushpuppies.. I crave them now that i'm out the country. ESPECIALLY the honey butter that it comes with!! Great value for food, its diner style, quick service, friendly southern folks, goooood BBQ! A must try if you're in the area.

Menu is what you'd expect for a family smokehouse restaurant. Personally, I like my own barbecue better, but you can't always find time to cook 10 pounds of pork shoulder all day. Priced about right.

The barbeque is good. I would say great, but it doesn't finish quite as well as I would like. The meat was clean, moist, and chopped well. The overall taste is excellent. The slaw was unusual, it was light to the point of being wispy. I have never had slaw like that. It was good. Hushpuppies were great. The tea... More

Hurseys has great BBQ, and it is offered several ways. You can get it chopped, sliced, pulled and they have ribs as well. The tea is not way over sweet and fresh. They also offer pretty good flounder and Brunswick stew. The prices are reasonable. This is one of my go to places when I don't want to cook. And... More
