Best place to be a pig.

Love my barbeque. Hursey's is your average bbq house. Slaw, mayonnaise based. BBQ more moist than dry. Flavor ok, not overpowering. Food portion little compared to the amount you get. Hush puppies number in 4 but will give you extra if you ask. Tea very good. Service great. Over all C rating... read more

My first experience of Hurseys although my wife had been here several times years ago. She said it was just as good as it ever was ! We bought a couple of chopped BBQ sandwiches with slaw and a side order of hushpuppies to go and a pound of the pulled pork for packing in our cooler to take back... More

A local institution. Nothing fancy, but no surprises either. The veteran wait staff provide prompt, attentive service. The limited menu keeps things moving in the kitchen: vinegar-based barbecue, broasted chicken, fried seafood, hush puppies, strawberry or peach cobbler for dessert. "Yellow" slaw - not "red." The iced tea always tastes fresh, which is a must in a BBQ place!.

I'm an eastern NC BBQ lover but enjoy trying everyone's take on pig preparation. I wasn't starving but enjoyed a large BBQ tray for lunch. This set me back $6.85 and included BBQ, slaw, and hush puppies. The BBQ was flavorful and moist. Not the best I've ever had, but by no means the worst. Not much smoke flavor at... More

My sister who lives in Burlington suggested we go here. I had the chopped pork and I was extremely satisfied with the flavor & portion. Others had the broasted chicken and enjoyed it as well. Where else can you take 4 adults and 2 kids for $45 ?!

I love BBQ so I decided to accompany some friends to eat supper. The broated chicken was good, baked beans and puppies were good. The BBQ was not good, and not a good representation NC Q. The house sauce tasted more like teriyaki than BBQ sauce. ( I prefer eastern style vinegar sauce) The ribs were very tender but did... More

This is not a chain restaurant. This is a one of a kind, unique BBQ "joint" where you can get everything form pork BBQ to homemade banana pudding. Go try it!

Among many barbecue restaurants in Burlington, this is the best. That said, everything is pretty much fried. Barbecue sauce is vinegar based. Very friendly and laid back atmosphere. Gets very busy around lunch and supper.

Not a whole lot to say but great BBQ ! I got a plate to go and the side were great the service was fast and nice smoke flavor like BBQ should have . The only thing I wasn't quite sure of was that the person at the register didn't have a happy look other than that great food and... More
