Sunday afternoon, but to late for brunch. They were nice enough to let us order from the brunch menu and it was great. We sat outside on the "porch" which apparently allows pets since there were multiple dogs - all well behaved.

I dined at SquareRoot on the recommendation of my B&B host, and was definitely pleased. This place has a very friendly bar and restaurant - the bar is made from a very large hardwood tree that was carefully machined to a beautiful surface. Don't miss the half-priced appetizers (almost meals in themselves) from 5-6 PM! The menu was interesting and... More

We ate here on a late Thursday night in early October and were immediately drawn to the outdoor sitting area, were there was a few tables open. We were seated right away and had great service. I wanted a mixed drink, but didn't know the name so the waitress had the bartender come out and speak to me personally about... More

Quaint location in a downtown alleyway. We made reservations for 7:30 pm and arrived 15 minutes early and were told we had to wait until 7:30. Did not get seated until 7:45 and our meals for the 6 of us arrived at 4 different times - 2 meals served first, then 2 meals 5 minutes later, then 1 soup order,... More

Was in Brevard for the very first time. Stopped at The Square Root for lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is cute and eclectic. The menu was amazing. Service was polite and quick. Food was tasty! If you are in town - you won't regret eating here!! The burgers and monte cristo were delicious! On Sunday - there... More

We were there on a Sunday , which in NC everything is closed. There were 7 of us and over the age of 50... We spent over 350.00 for dinner and wine. We also spent no more than 1 hour and 15 mins eating and several of us had not finished our wine , when the hostess came up and... More

Excellent food, reasonably priced. Atmosphere is rustic with a modern art deco touch. Great beer on tap. Excellent service. Convenient location in downtown Brevard. Also another location in Hendersonville down the road. We ate at both locations - equally nice.

Tucked away in the alley across from the Chocolate Shop, Square Root is a nice place for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Can be very busy, especially on weekends. May want to call ahead. There is a separate bar area which is usually full and lively. There is limited seating in this small restaurant, and there are some tables on... More

This is a great little place to eat when visiting Brevard. There were 9 in our party, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. My almond encrusted trout was delicious. Others had the Tempeh Noodle Bowl, Fish Tacos, Burger, homemade soup of the day and the special of the day, which was trout in parchment paper, all of which were amazing.... More
