I stopped by this café after hiking 8.5 miles at Grandfather Mountain. Did not try the coffee but did order a Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate Smoothie. It was the most pathetic smoothie I ever had. It was awful, bland, no taste and wasn't even cold. They didn't even use ice cubes to make it frosty and cold. For the chocolate... More

If you are in downtown Boone and in need of a java jolt, this is the place to go. It is one of the few places in the world that makes coffee strong enough to have body and flavor. It is the place the locals go, so don't be surprised if you see a wide variety of people there. Grate... More

This is one of (if not the best) coffee in town. The service is also exceptional. I am a local and I visit this place often. Much better than Starbucks (in my opinion)

We were looking for a good latte and breve in Boone on Sunday. Most coffee shops were closed, but he happened on this one. The coffee is very good and the prices are better than the coffee shops in the "big city". Nice bohemian atmosphere. The only drawbacks are that it's hard to find if you don't already know where... Can't believe you are not allowed to engage in quiet conversation at your table. I left with a bitter taste in my mouth (and not from the sub par over priced coffee) that the owner thinks he won't lose a big chunk of his loyal customers with this arrogant signage. Outrageous.

Though this seems to be a corner stone of the community, I can't figure out why. The environment is very snobbish and judgmental, the, and no one every has a smile on their face. The environment is uncomfortable, but I guess that's okay if you're on the run.

So...the coffee is AMAZING,but what really knocked my socks off was the pineapple, coconut, pecan baked good. Everything baked here is to DIE for.

I don't drink coffee, so I can't rate those drink options, but this is a favorite place to pick up a quick snack. They make delicious smoothies and the daily soups are so good & served piping hot. Homemade baked goods and chocolates are also available. Espresso News is hidden back behind Footsloggers & the parking is a little cramped,... More

Espresso News is tucked away on a backstreet in downtown Boone, NC-- luckily the size of Boone's "downtown" makes it pretty easy to find. I frequent Espresso News at least weekly-- NOT for the atmosphere, but for the quality coffee (they know how to make an americano) and the quick (quickest in town, hands down) service. The people behind the... More

Espresso news is my favorite place for coffee in Boone. They roast their own coffee there, and it if your lucky to come when the owner roasts, you smell the place already from far. Also make their own chocolate, and pastries. Pastries are usually sold out pretty quick though. However, it can be very crowded during university semester, due to... More
