Eager to go back

Received a recommendation of Vidalia from the owner of the Mast Farm Inn, and he was exactly correct. First impression wasn't tremendous (the host was a little dismissive) but that was the lone hiccup. Service was not pushy but very attentive and eager to offer some opinions and advice. I ate here alone at the bar in January, had the Vidalia salad and a side of grilled salmon. It was all excellent and they were very accommodating with any substitutions I had, and got everything right. More of an adult place than college students which I really enjoyed as well. highly recommend.

We came here several times before the remodel and got absolutely amazing meals. We came recently and were very pleased to see that they have remodeled because the old restaurant did not have much seating and was very crowded however i'm not sure if they changed chefs or only changed their menu but after the remodel we did not enjoy... This place is a find. Absolutely awesome. From the service to the menu... and the food. Simply great. I had a special that included shrimp, cilantro, a homemade barbecue sauce reduction, and stone ground grits... & a few other goodies. It rocked! As an appetizer, we had macaroni and cheese with cracklins on top. Real cracklins. At the bar, they... More

We stopped in this restaurant, while out shopping downtown, to have a drink while waiting on the rain to stop. The bartender, who is also one the owners, was very friendly and gave several drink suggestions. We ordered an appetizer while there, which was excellent. The atmosphere is very hip and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Everything on the... More

Called last minute and got a table. Hostess was accommodating and seated is immediately at a table they had ready for us. Our server was on point. The food included a peanut tahini appetizer, a crusted trout and a crab cake dish. The dishes were excellent and beautifully presented. The ambiance and decor were perfect right up to great rat... Make reservations - it's a popular spot (for good reason). We had crabcakes dinner ($21) and the Appalachian burger ($12) and enjoyed both. Daily specials offered. Pleasant, modern atmosphere

It's the night after Thanksgiving in the North Carolina mountains, and how do you top all of the turkey, dressing and mashed potatoes you had the day before? You go to Vidalia for dinner! What this downtown Boone establishment lacks in atmosphere, it more than makes up for in food creativity and taste (I kept wishing they would at least... More

High class local dining at a reasonable price. I love the varied menu and the use of local products. Well worth the price - I'd advise getting reservations because they will fill up quickly (it's that good). If they have an open spot, the bar and open kitchen are great places to sit and have a meal. The chicken and... More
